Sam as healer, drk as tank, rdm as tank please.
Or maybe, just maybe, they want you to play a class as a single job rather than bouncing between the two without having some kind of cost associated with it? That's how it feels now with SCH/SMN: when you're leveling it, you don't choose SCH *and* SMN because you really only play one. I fully expect that if they provide a DPS job to a tank class that they're going to do the exact same thing. The cost associated with job switching on a single class rather than having 2 separate classes is the price you pay for getting 2 jobs while only leveling one class.
Also, the whole "enhanced attribute traits" issue, there's no reason to change them and no real reason to bring it up. SCH still has the same enhanced int traits that SMN gets. It doesn't *matter*, however, because the devs can just have the job you're switching to have higher MND, like they did with SCH: the MND and INT on my SCH are 222 and 231; my SMN has 242 and 182. The enhanced attribute traits really are just arbitrary. The devs could remove them completely and just have the stats folded into your stats naturally and it wouldn't make any different. I really think they're there just to pad out the number of visible traits.
I understand that and if you read down I go into how the game currently is designed to encourage you to stick with a main job due to the myth limit. The stat bonuses as they currently exist are an extension of that.Or maybe, just maybe, they want you to play a class as a single job rather than bouncing between the two without having some kind of cost associated with it? However it does create two tiers of alt job inferiority.
You have your main job and your alt jobs that don't share the same class. The alt jobs are going to be limited in that they will not have access to myth gear unless you take it away from your main job. These are second tier to your main because there will be a gear discrepancy between the two.
Alt jobs that do share the same class as your main suffer a worse penalty. They not only have the gear discrepancy, but they also are subject to less than optimal bonus stat allocation. I don't believe this is necessary. As they continue to add more jobs that branch off the existing classes, I believe it would be wise for them to allow for stat specialization to occur on a per job basis, and not have a single stat allocation for the base class.
Flexibility is what's most attractive about the FF Job systems. You can swap to whatever Job you like and be effective in that as long as you level it up and gear it out. I understand the idea behind focusing on a single Job for the highest tier content and gear, with alt jobs being a step behind in that regard. But I don't think the additional penalty of choosing between sub optimal stat allocation for alt Jobs and having to drop 10k seals every time you want to swap back and forth between your alt Job really adds anything to the game.
However, I did acknowledge that they may not add this and if they don't (or until they do) there's other ways of looking at or dealing with the situation. Aka just suffer the penalty, it's an alt Job you'll be mostly fine or don't focus on alt Jobs that share the same base classes.
