Luminary VS Craft Quest 50 tools.

I'm not really sure where to post this and unsure if it has been discussed before but here goes:

Why is the Luminary tool that I slaved over in 1.0 equal in value (stats) to a craft quest reward that is practically given to you if you complete r50 quests? I don't really like that they are equal in stats and I was hoping that it would have a slightly elevated numbers because of the time put in to grind out for luminary.

If you oppose or agree, I'm curious to hear how others feel about this.

    Thanks for listening.

EDIT: Maybe I should refine my post; Are there more plans for Luminary?

You can have your higher stats luminary as soon as I get the credit for the tens of thousands of synths I did that SE didn't bother to track before luminaries.

Probably because they are essentially different games. They wanted to bring over items from the previous version, to help legacy members in preventing them needing to regear for a bit, but it needs to be kept in-line with the current version of the game (essentially, the most important of the two).

But can't you still attain luminary through achievements (which are pretty much the same type of grindiness)?

Perhaps the Luminary will be upgrade able (either +1 or perhaps when lvl cap is increased) but the blueminary (that's what my FC is calling the ''AF'' tools) is a static tool.

It's more than likely the other way around, Niqote.
As with every other achievement item, they are simply, merely, for show.

Of course, they're not useless, but that is all they are not, they are completely for show only to display that you have, in fact, completed that achievement. That they were gracious enough to make the achievement reward actually useable rather than how the White Ravens ended up as is already a thing to be thankful for. I know I wouldn't have made the Luminary tools achievement items to begin with.

I kinda agree with you. But, I'm coming to see the Luminary tools as something you eventually end up with, showing how much crafting you've done. Not something you sit and specifically craft to get.

    Did that make sense?

Like instead of slaving away at crafting so many recipes of each level, after crafting in the game for a while, you find that you've done enouhg crafting to earn the luminary tool. Something to show off how much you've contributed to yourself and others with your craft. Showing that you're not just level 50, but experienced at it as well.

Everyone thought paid retainers and fantasia would be the end of it.
    You were warned.

Because you're not a special snowflake that deserves to have better gear because you played a different version of the game.

Also, the stats are for balance purposes. Giving a small subset of players better stats breaks that balance.

Also, the Luminary gear you have is still obtainable within game via achievement.

Also, the developers designed it that way.

How would it make me a 'special snowflake' if they can still be obtained as you even mentioned? I'm just saying it doesn't really make sense to have two end level tools with the same stats. Na'mean?

I originally thought they were better.. then I completed my first craft, capping Alchemy at 50.. I was like, oh.
Yeah, I dunno how I feel on it. I am kinda okay with it, because this just means it's a novelty item that's there to show you've done a LOT of crafts in the game. On the other hand.. if you actively work for it, it's reeeeeeally disappointing.. I think this is a case where they never intended anyone to work for them in 2.0 at all, and that they were just things that you get eventually, maybe. Meanwhile though, it is kinda sucky for 1.0 players who already had one.
