    A couple of questions.

So, I'm Pretty new to this game, only played for around half a week, and my highest level char is a level 8 marauder.
However, I have a couple of questions..
1st: What is the best way to level? To just mercilessly cut down anything you see that you think you can take, or to focus on questing, or the log of killing(forgot the name for it)? What do you guys use?
2nd: Are there any general things about Rping? I tend to find a small degree of Rping fun, but is it generally looked down on, or what?
3rd: Which class is the best for tanking? I've been rolling Marauder this far, and it seems right for the job. But is one of the other classes better suited?
4th: Could someone please explain how the job switching stuff works? I can't quite wrap my head around it.
    Thanks!

Character Creation is locked and opened as there is room, check out this link http://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...23e07acb3d22f6 they updated every 5 hours or so if your desired world is open or not. Since its an EU server try creating a character around 12 GMT.

Leveling your first class is easy, just do the quests as you see them and do your story quest as soon as possible. Every 5 levels you can do your class quest which you should. Everything else will be explained through the story, like leve quests and guild quests.
At level 15 (story) you get access to your first dungeon and fates are great to if you see them. But to learn your class dungeons are best. Hunting log is great too.

Role playing isnt looked down on or anything and most servers have free companies (guild) or linkshells (chat room) that do this so its fun to do it with others.

Gladiator/Paladin and Marauder/Warrior are both good at tanking and actually the only tanks, situational one is better than the other.

    5.

Get to level 10 and do your class quest, after that you can go to the other class guilds and unlock the class and just equip the weapon or tool of the class to change.

In general do your quest to learn how to play. It gets explained when you need it.
