Situations like that though you have to realize not all jobs/classes can react to the situation in the same way. As a SCH that went up against the annoying poison of the Malboro, you just have to keep an eye on your pet's poison count, when it looks like it's getting to a point where they might die, swift cast becomes a godsend because you can bring them back while only missing one turn in the cure phase but not losing your buddy with the curing.

if you lack swiftcast however you just need to anticipate the best time to start resummoning the pet but in a way where you do it before the pet dies and maybe when rouse is up since at least your pet should be able to handle the healing while you call for a new one to help you out.
