In other words, if you're wearing crap, your pets will also be crap. To what degree stats are influenced however, I don't know. For example, if it's like FFX where all of Yuna's stats translated directly to her Summons (e.g. if Yuna's STR was low, so would the Aeon's STR) or if it's more generic than that and perhaps derived either purely from INT, and/or a combination of secondary stats like DEF.
