Never Forget Quest problem - I need a reset or something

Doing the Main Story quests in sequence and have a problem.
Started the Never Forget quest in the South Shroud. Went to Loma Lominsa spoke to the first NPC who directs you to speak to Kyoykoroon and bring an egg. I get the egg but when I get to Kyoykoroon the quest symbol over his head is in RED. The text he gives me is just general not related to the quest.
I'm completely stopped unable to proceed with the quest. Usually the red means the quest is too high for your current level but my character is 23 the quest is 22. And usually it will open the accept/decline window stating that. But the NPC Kyoykoroon is not the quest giver. Something is really messed up.
Can I get the RED symbol cleared or a reset and I'll start the quest over?

Is your level high enough? Just a double check. I had a red quest marker once because I didn't have the right clothes on.

Did you bring the right kind of egg? It needs to be a Chicken Egg. Double check that.

jeeze louise! some quirgons are so picky. Kyoykoroon doesn't want a boiled egg he wants a plain egg ;-)
