    Wanderer's Palace Second Boss

I tried Wanderer's Palace for the first time last night (as the tank) with two different groups and could not get past the second boss. I told everyone that the adds needed to die quick and to run if you got marked by the boss. I also said that even if you are not the one marked, to stay away from the boss' face so you don't get hit by his cone attack. Each time, getting all the adds on me went fairly smoothly but they were not dying very fast and the boss would still one shot the dps or healer with his cone attack after he started chasing them. This was frustrating because it is the first dungeon I have tried so far that I did not finish on the first run. Did I just have a bad group, or am I missing something on this boss?

I at least got an upgrade from the first boss... We managed to kill him despite the fact that the healer in the second group was just healing through the debuff instead of getting rid of it.

I only managed a first time run due to a player who previously ran it. Since we were both bards we had little trouble aoe-ing the adds.

What was even more annoying was that no one said a word but me. So I couldn't tell if they understood what to do. I would write out the explanation for the boss in case someone didn't know what to do, but got zero responses. The black mage with us also kept just jumping around during trash pulls. More people in my FC need to get to 50...

It sounds like you did everything right. If left alive long enough, the adds will eventually apply multiple debuffs to players, including a snare + stun/paralysis effects, that will prevent whoever's marked from being able to effectively kite the boss, thus resulting in death due to not being able to avoid his frontal attack.

As fresh 50s, you need quick AE/focus fire on the adds to get them down quickly enough to avoid that from happening. Don't be afraid to use a BLM/SMN LB on the 2nd or 3rd wave (the first wave spawns 3, subsequent waves spawn 4). Also, once you've got aggro locked, you might want to watch for adds that heal and be ready to interrupt them to help avoid adds living longer than they should (I believe the green one is always a healer, not sure about others).

I've ran WP several times over the past few days, some good runs some bad runs. What I've found is that if we fail to get past the second boss it is usually because we are lacking in DPS and AOEs.

Blob and King are pretty much dps races, the longer the fight continues the harder it becomes on the healer and tank. Most of my failed runs have been because the DPS only has AF1 armor, lvl 30-40 accessories, and a low lvl 40 weapon.

Usually after the second wipe on Blob I tell them that we probably do not have enough dps and that the DDs should look to upgrade. It's not hard to get a lvl 48-50 weapon and buy some lvl 49/50 accessories from the Markets for you job.
