I play this game pretty much exclusively with my girlfriend. We're the classic tank/healer combo. Will other members of our duty finder groups, not part of our party, be able to vote for us in this system? Obviously we wouldn't be able to vote for each other. This system is for groups that get matched in the Duty Finder and cannot be used when you pre-make parties to enter dungeons and other content. Once you clear the content, you'll be able to vote for a player you feel was helpful, positive, and friendly.
Accumulating these points will allow you to buy companion armor, new mounts, and other exclusive items.
I would like to know this too, me and my brother also go in as the tank heal combo and would like to take part of this system. If not then I will keep leveling my marauder so i can keep doing insta dungeons while my brother is offline.
Please NO! The last thing I want is to get placed with 3 "elitist" players, and even though I did my job well, them vote me down because I'm not an uber nerd that plays ffxiv 24/7 and expects everyone else to be as good as they are.. No thanks.
Unenlightened society wants an unenlightened cereal.
so if you only play with friends or guildies you cant get these special mounts and other rewards ? SORRY BUT THIS IS LAME, just a kick option in dungeons would suffice
your first statement is not compatible with your second statement. If you only play with guildies and friends you don't need a kick option either.
That is a fantastic idea!
I think the up-voting thing is also a fabulous idea. It's a great way to encourage people to be kind in groups. There's really no reprocussions for being an awful person, but now there will be further reason to be kind. Some people are just not nice unless they have a reward for it (because selfish o_o).
@Airget once again ... this will not work, will only make it worse, sigh, for many reasons, someone outgearing the rest not giving room for them to do much, ppl fighting over who does what, maybe if you say that if they spend x amount of time being afk, to be cut off rewards sure.. but you can't just flat out do that.., anyway
What I wanted to say is that giving those tangible rewards are NOT going to help, people should look forward being nice and friendly for the mere fact of being NICE, not for the goodies they'll get in reward, what was mention before plus..
Continues...
What I was thinking might work is do add a reward system, but not with something significant, and more importantly not lasting, say it only lasts a short amount of time, and you can get it again or keep it constantly if you keep getting voted. Like for example how Lineage had with the hero and pk names, but not including pvp. If you get voted up after a certain treshold you can see, for example, your name changes colour, say golden or green (i think blue is normal one? cant remember) and you become flagged as a "team player" nice person to others, etc, someone who is overall helpful and nice. but if you get voted down your name would turn a something different, opposite, not red cause red is enemies. Maybe even instead of the colour changing you can add a small icon, such as a star for voted up and cross or something for down. to avoid exploiting this for harassment you could make it visible in duties only and only people in your duty can vote you.
Does not mean people will up-vote. I would never up just for that reason. Its like me up-voting people but in turn I never get any even if I'm nice. Its bad and some people will never get anything from it.
