will they add the Kick option too?
will they add the Kick option too?
And in fact, I'd be much more supportive of an "MVP" system where people are actually rewarded by the game and other players for skillful play, as opposed to the current system where people can apparently earn said tomes by idling in a dungeon. But I was under the impression that SE WAS adding a system that would encourage players to use more "in-demand" classes like tanks and such in duty finder stuff already. I think I read that on either the Mogcast or Eorzeapedia. It could have been that MVP system, though.
At any rate, I really hope SE takes the current duty finder and player stats and worries as feedback for what type of class they should add next. Maybe they should add a melee "healer" a la dancer or some kind of mage tank. Yes, that last one sounds kind of ridiculous, but not really since as far as I have seen Arcanist, Topaz Carby ain't nothin' to laugh at.
Well erm no.... You can say whatever you want at the beginning of the run to appease these hostage takers. The vote happens when you've done the dungeon, in which case he can pretty much guarantee he won't be getting any vote.. Easy peasy
This is a good idea, science has shown that positive reinforcement is more effective than negative reinforcement. This system combined with players organizing to make the DF experience more pleasant could very well lead to a positive spiral, and we all know positivty is contagious.
I had to quote this 8 pages late because this post is so much truth it deserved to be quoted 8 pages late.I hope the stuff isn't only obtained this way, because while that certainly does encourage using the Derpy Finder and not being a prick, it doesn't encourage the basic principles behind a MMO... You know... How you find friends and play with them? I really have no reason to ever touch Duty Finder solo, but unless I do I don't get this stuff? Gee thanks for encouraging me to play with my friends...
I understand that part of it, but many systems have their flaws, that particular (and extremely likely to occur) example is one of that would definitely be a flaw and probably the main reason behind the decision not to do that. I get it.
However..
What I am referring to when I say "Healers and Tanks will be able to take advantage of this system exclusively" is that currently (and I don't see this changing ever) Healers and Tanks can queue up with minimal to no wait time and obtain a DF group. Where as a DPS is lucky if they get a queue within 10 minutes of waiting. It can, and usually does take upwards to 20-30 minutes at times for a DPS class to join a DF group and longer still if you continually get in a queue only to have someone who queued up and got accepted drop out of the queue, therefor resetting your queue (albeit you are still at the top of the queue). I have seen this happen to myself many times and it usually occurs 2-5 times in a row before it replaces the person that is not accepting or is rejecting the queue.I disagree that only healers/tanks can benefit. I personally find each role's contribution to be important for evaluation. Also, they can create categories according to party role. Helpful [healer, tank, dps] not just merely helpful in general. By creating categories they encourage people to evaluate all helpful roles. I look forward to seeing how it works at least.
In that span of time, a Healer or a Tank will have already queued up and could very well be at the end of a dungeon before a DPS even starts their run. Therefore, Healers and Tanks will gain these MVP points on a much faster scale.
I was reading a few things that mentioned the players that obtain all the items they want with points would go back to not caring and trolling. This may have been suggested before but perhaps there can be a free gear repairs token. Everyone always needs gear repairs. Maybe it can be repurchased with points and you can give it to the repair npc for a free repair. Perhaps make it like the exp scrolls where you can only carry one at a time.
Just an idea I thought I would throw out there, or support if someone already mentioned it.![]()
You know that rewards in gil and exp for doing a random dungeon as a needed class is coming too right? and it's coming out with the MVP system. Please don't make it a MVP system. Please reward players for playing the class that is in demand so that everyone queues up faster.
Please also reward players for doing a random dungeon to assist more crowded dungeons.
Like other users have mentioned, I foresee extreme abuse of the MVP system.
also can someone please tell me how they will abuse the MVP system? it's at the end of the run, you cannot hold the run hostage or take friends with you so I don't think there is a way for this to be abused. If by abused you mean you will take your relic+1 tank and run every dungeon from 15-45 to help people out so you can get MVP points then... abuse away i guess lol
Only allow the vote as you finish and leave the dungeon, not before, or else you will get pressure to vote trade with the implication that groups will be dropped if you dont go along with it.
AFAIK points will be given only when the dungeon ends.
Now, I'm not so sure I'm fond of the reward system. However, I'd like the opportunity to get to SEE how many points the people in my group has accumulated throughout his lifetime. That way I can be sure that a group is made of nice people when the dungeon starts![]()
