I can predict abuse of this system...
I feel this is a good idea! However, I feel players that are new to a certain dungeon or boss should not be able to get or give points (or at least give negative points if possible) until they clear the dungeon at least once. Just my opinion though, getting through a dungeon with a new player should give automatic extra points.
And if this system will get "negative" points part... Well this is where real abuse start like threatning "If you don't do as i say i will -1 you!" and so on...
I hope that SE will learn on mistakes of BioWare with their SWToR MVp in PvP warzones...
It's really sad to see that the people playing this game can't even be nice and courteous to eachother, so the dev team thought this was a solution.Greetings, everyone!
I'd like to give a brief official overview of the "MVP" system that was announced by Yoshida during TGS, as there is a lot of interest in how this will encourage players to be positive and helpful when using the Duty Finder.
This system is for groups that get matched in the Duty Finder and cannot be used when you pre-make parties to enter dungeons and other content. Once you clear the content, you'll be able to vote for a player you feel was helpful, positive, and friendly.
Accumulating these points will allow you to buy companion armor, new mounts, and other exclusive items.
This system is scheduled to be implemented in patch 2.1, and once further details have been finalized we will be sure to share them with you!
No. The point is there ara always some jackass ppls out there. Like "OMG YOU ARE LEAGCY! BURN BURN BURN WITCH!" or dat Garuda fight when i told MT "You clearly don't know what to do after Aerial Blast can i MT her?" i get answer, ahem, polite version of that will sound like "I have no need in instructions from legacy player."
i like this. it will encourage people to play nice and not be rude.
I helped new players because I want to help them. And, because I was once, a new player as well. I don't need MVP Points, and I don't care for the exclusive items that will pursued in a 'carrot-on-a-stick' fashion.
Just my opinion.
I'll be flinging points left and right at people methinks (well not guys being jerks obviously) wish this was in sooner, had a nice DF dungeon run with some players from Cactuar Corp and they all thanked me for the heals after we finished (didn't see the point of being thanked for healing as that's my role, but was really nice of them, so i was all like oh my, you're welcome) I'd throw MVP points at them.
Please don't make it a MVP system. Please reward players for playing the class that is in demand so that everyone queues up faster.
Please also reward players for doing a random dungeon to assist more crowded dungeons.
Like other users have mentioned, I foresee extreme abuse of the MVP system. Players will spam for votes. And at the end of the dungeon, I think players would try to talk about who to give the MVP to, often amongst much confusion and selfishness.
If you must use the MVP system, please allow players to queue up with their friends (but 50% or less of the party). Otherwise, tanks and healers probably won't queue as often because in my experience, tanks and healers often have friends that they want to queue with. I predict that only allowing MVP for people that queue solo would lead to DPS having to wait even longer in the duty finder.
Please also allow a form of negative reinforcement. If a player does not heal a player for 75% of the bosses, or hit 75% of the bosses, he/she cannot receive any tomestones or rewards for the dungeon. The % or something similar would be a check for players that get locked out by accident due to cutscenes.

Dumbest idea ive seen in ANY MMO.... I really can't believe the things they choose to work on over other issues.
