SW: TOR has/had an MVP vote for battlegrounds... My IA sniper got the majority of votes almost every time. Despite standing out above the rest, I hated this system because a single player doesn't make a team. If we could vote for multiple people so that we can exclude people that we think performed poorly, it would be a much better system.

This. I don't want a "MVP" function. This means healers and tanks will exclusively be most valuable. No offense, but DDs are a commodity and, while they can speed things up or slow them down, their actions don't radiate consequences like the healer and tank.

I want to thumbs up or thumbs down ALL players in my group.

If they're in my party, why can't I vote for them? If I didn't think they were a valuable player, why the heck would I have partied with them?

    MVP System

People that are d_ckholes online that needed this syetm will find a way to remain d_ckholes after the patch has been implemented.

I usually keep my verbal contribution to parties to a minimum. "Hi" when the dungeon loads up and "thank you" in the end.

    What is companion armor?

I'd use this as a way to hand out 'transmog stones'. Each time you get voted up, you get one transmog stone/crystal/potion/moogle... used to transmog one item once.

But also let it be used for repairs.

It needs to be things people will always continue to want - and that's two of them right there. Maybe grand company seals also.

I would also add 1/4th of the MVPs you win to your FC automatically. So that FC's start seeking people who are good at getting MVPs, so the Free Company can use those FC-MVP points on things like 'FC House items'.

I'd like to give a brief official overview of the "MVP" system that was announced by Yoshida during TGS, as there is a lot of interest in how this will encourage players to be positive and helpful when using the Duty Finder.

This system is for groups that get matched in the Duty Finder and cannot be used when you pre-make parties to enter dungeons and other content. Once you clear the content, you'll be able to vote for a player you feel was helpful, positive, and friendly.

Accumulating these points will allow you to buy companion armor, new mounts, and other exclusive items.
This doesn't really sound like an ideal solution. So once you gain a certain amount of MVP points you can grief all you want? You're relying on people's desire for mounts/minions to act nice? I'm seeing this offering a slight improvement but I don't see it as a solution.

The problem with this system is that you are not directly punishing players who are acting in a negative manner. If you are going the distance to code responses then why not add a function where an account gets flagged for review after X number of "unfriendly, harrassing" etc? In this way you can filter out the one-off of someone marking someone down for simply being angry but if that same character is getting 50-60 then there's probably a problem.

I feel this is a good idea! However, I feel players that are new to a certain dungeon or boss should not be able to get or give points (or at least give negative points if possible) until they clear the dungeon at least once. Just my opinion though, getting through a dungeon with a new player should give automatic extra points.

It's really sad to see that the people playing this game can't even be nice and courteous to eachother, so the dev team thought this was a solution.

No. The point is there ara always some jackass ppls out there. Like "OMG YOU ARE LEAGCY! BURN BURN BURN WITCH!" or dat Garuda fight when i told MT "You clearly don't know what to do after Aerial Blast can i MT her?" i get answer, ahem, polite version of that will sound like "I have no need in instructions from legacy player."

Please don't make it a MVP system. Please reward players for playing the class that is in demand so that everyone queues up faster.

Please also reward players for doing a random dungeon to assist more crowded dungeons.

Like other users have mentioned, I foresee extreme abuse of the MVP system. Players will spam for votes. And at the end of the dungeon, I think players would try to talk about who to give the MVP to, often amongst much confusion and selfishness.

If you must use the MVP system, please allow players to queue up with their friends (but 50% or less of the party). Otherwise, tanks and healers probably won't queue as often because in my experience, tanks and healers often have friends that they want to queue with. I predict that only allowing MVP for people that queue solo would lead to DPS having to wait even longer in the duty finder.

Please also allow a form of negative reinforcement. If a player does not heal a player for 75% of the bosses, or hit 75% of the bosses, he/she cannot receive any tomestones or rewards for the dungeon. The % or something similar would be a check for players that get locked out by accident due to cutscenes.
