I'm all for vote kicking. Not sure how to prevent abuse though. I'm sure at some level any form of vote kicking will get abused by people. I don't know, maybe implement a reason drop down list with 10-20 reasons to kick the person, and only kick them if 2/3 of the reasons match.

I like your idea. it would make more sense to have reasons in place to justify the kick and I hope they never put gear as an option. That just further encourages the elitist behavior that's usually a blight to any mmo's playerbase.

Why not just a regular vote kick, but don't let the party see how many votes are piling up? If I vote to kick PlayerX, he will see 1 vote against him (not from whom), and nobody else has to know. That way, you don't get a crowd mentality prompting other players to also vote against him. If PlayerX is AFK or a troll or whatever then everyone can independently vote. Since you can't send tells in the instance any ganging up has to be stated in the open for the whole group to see.

yup, also if you queue with 2 friends and have one random you cannot vote kick the random. Because talking with your friends through LS or FC chat to plan to vote kick someone is easier.

Given how successful their auto-logout system has been, I really don't see how a "You can kick after they've been idle for X minutes" would work...

The good VASTLY dwarfs the bad. There is no perfect system. Vote Kick is going to be abused. The current setup is also being abused. The difference is the current abuse borders on Bot'ing as they're technically afk while still getting rewarded for doing so while vote kick abuse will basically boil down to being a prick. The gear issue *should* be roughly sorted with 2.1's minimum ilvl to queue checks. I frankly don't want to see anyone in their level 45 quest gear in AK. Wanderer's Palace exists for a reason.

There are a lot of window licking rejects out there that LOVE their paint chip omnomnom's. Being able to vote kick these players rather than having to leave the group does two things: 1) You might actually complete the instance 2) The derp that got kicked might get a clue that he's ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE and possibly improve.

If 3/3 other people in the group feel you are not up to par in gear, skill level, or competence.... THEN I'M SORRY but maybe you deserve to be kicked, nothing personal.

I don't believe SE on this one, they probably have a design flaw preventing them from easily implementing a vote kick.

The "malicious use" bs excuse they are feeding us is right up there for their reasoning behind not letting us send tells in duty finder.
