From a technical standpoint, it wouldn't be very difficult to have a vote to kick feature for the Duty Finder, and we are planning to implement this.

However, as there is the concern that it could be used maliciously to get rid of players that groups do not like, we are working hard to create a system that reduces the chances for problems to occur. Due to this, we are continuing to look into the feature, as well as whether we will implement this in patch 2.1.

Yes, there is a chance that groups could use this feature maliciously, but you do realize that this vote-kick feature exists in many other games and there isn't an epidemic of people kicking out others just for spite. And in the event that we are kicked, we can simply hit the LFG tool again and get into a dungeon.

Yes, build in things like not being able to kick a party member for at least 15min to avoid the knee-jerk reaction, and make us not able to kick from when combat start to the end of loot distribution.. but i fear that whatever system is put in place, it will not be as simple as that.

We are all adults (or those that aren't, are children being allowed to play by adults, so it's not your job to protect the children), and we can take care of ourselves in this game; We don't need big brother safety proofing every. single. thing. You are not going to prevent all harassment in XIV, no matter how hard you try, all you will end up doing is making every "safety-proofed" feature something this painful to work with at best.

Here's an idea for SE.
Instead of a simple vote kick system, you may think of implement a system where everyone can vote for abandon the duty and it'll pass if 3/4 people or 6/8 people agree on it. That way it won't be unfair for people to abuse the vote kick since they will have to restart after. And of course, make this voting abandon duty to have no penalty since it's by votes.

Ever since I started playing this game I can honestly say that SE cannot take a step forward without taking two steps backwards.

Anyways, instead of vanity items and stuff that at some point will become irrelevant (or will be completely irrelevant to some players) SE should do something to create parties with players on your same amount/% of reputation. That way good players will encounter good players and bad players only bad players. Perhaps make it so that each run you get the chance to give thumbs up or down to a random player or all the party and take those points into account when creating your DF party. No need for vanity items or yet another currency (MVP points). Plus by adding MVP-only items SE is excluding players who only run with pre-made parties.

Their intent is to get people who have friends/LS/FCs to instead start grouping up with random people. I completely disagree with that notion, but I really doubt they'll ever change their opinion on it...

If MVP could be traded for loot from dungeons, I'd actually be perfectly fine with it. Then we'd have two options; go in pre-made and organize who gets what, or go in random and don't be a dick. That would actually be kind of alright, instead it is items which have absolutely no connection to the Derpy Finder though...

All we asked for, was a simple kick option to get rid of all griefers / leechers / morons / bad skilled / whatever, people from our groups.

Not some reward system that will be abused to death as soon as people find a way.
Plus i hate to have to rely on people will to obtain items.

This was maybe a good idea on paper, but lets face reality, it's not gonna solve anything, just look at how dumb people are.
The only new thing this system will bring is a new "MVP for MVP or i will leave / not help" type of griefers.

While it's commendable to give players the option to reward good behavior, I'm also of the group who thinks that it's more important to punish trolls and unfriendly players, whom are running rampant in DF. Most of them are being absolute d*cks ONLY because they know they will get away with it. Let's say if 1 player gives you a thumbs down, that's no penalty.

When 2 players give you thumbs down, that's 10 minutes wait penalty the next time you queue for ANYTHING. 3 downvotes? 1 hour penalty. 4 or more? Get logged out immediately and prevented from logging back in for 24 hours. That would give the trolls and mean people some incentive to behave more civilized towards other players.

See with any system where the users punish other users, trolls will troll. It seems you don't know the lengths to which people will go just to grieve. The other day there was a thread about how people killed the lambs just to troll the fate farmers.

Yeah, they would have to prevent folks from the same FC or friends list to count for more than 1 vote per group. Not abuse-proof either.. but better than what we got today.

Just reading the basics (not knowing details) this seems like a disaster to me.
