The only time I have ran out of MP was when I just forgot to turn off my ballad and it drained out while running.

songs do NOT need to be on all time use them when need then turn them off
if your party's healing/caster mp is low use the song
when it get high turn off the song
as for the TP song
see how your party is acting with there skills
if they not using many skills use the TP song for a bit then stop
or use chat and as if tp song needed
use songs when needed
not all the time
is what i think

The idea that you should use songs when your healers' MP is at half is completely flawed. Proactive use is always better than reactive use. Use it any time you're not DPSing. Phase changes, between waves, just before adds spawn before they're picked up, etc. This will prevent you from having to incur the 20% damage penalty during any time you need to be DPSing. It'll also give you time to regen the MP used during singing between songs. No pots needed, no running out of MP, and your mana users (healers especially!) will love you.
