I didn't believe the DF naysayers when they first predicted the introduction of DF would ruin the community. Well, it has.
The community at the end of V1 was nicer. There's no argument about that. whether this is because the small numbers meant the community was naturally close-knit or not is debatable, but it was leagues better than this.
People AFKing dungeons. People demanding players skip CS on their first run through storyline dungeons. OP's example. Once the new task board system (whatever it's called) is introduced they should just nuke DF from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.
SE might need to implement a simple question when someone leaves using the Leave button in DF: "Did he leave for a valid reason?" or such.
Each time "no" is the majority his DF cooldown will increase exponentially. Such attitude is not acceptable.

People are assholes. That tank clearly falls into that category.

What an awful person that tank was.
However, this is far from the worst community ever in an MMO.

I do kind of find it funny as well... u know in that horrible way funny when you see a kid fall over with a bicycle ... you shouldn't laugh but do anyway.
But yeah, what an ass that tank was... The selfish attitude just seems to get to new levels in DF.
And yeah, there's a lot of doucebags in the game but I think a list of "avoid these people" should never see the light of day...
I can already imagine all the posts that thread would get about some butthurt players who lost on a loot, got heartbroken over a ingame girl etc.... So no thanks.
There is a little Monkey in all of us....

you trade quality of life for quality of community, remove duty finder and market wards. Bring back player bazaars and lock your max craft at 50 and all subs at 25. Remove questing for exp, fate grinding, and dungeon grinding for exp. Slow down the pace of combat so you can chat when doing everything.
What do you get? Incredible community at the cost of a terrible MMO quaality of life for today's standards
simple fix square enix should implement a ban from looting in duty finder for people who abuse it first time offence 1 week, 2nd offence 1 month, 3rd permanent, i would also suggest the names of these people be shared with others in your free company and on servers so others can be on alert of rude jerks.

Things SE can do:
1) Do not allow chest opening until certain mobs are killed
2) Award end of dungeon loot (tomes) only to people that actually participate in all bosses (from the participants point of entry, in case they join mid-dungeon)
3) Boss chest loot only lottable by participants in the boss battle

If that happens I'll never help by joining as a tank midway through dungeons ever again.Things SE can do:
