Graphic card/Direct X problem

Basically im having issues with Direct X, whenever I start the game it says "Unable to detect DirectX device. The program has shut down. Please restart FINAL FANTASY XIV."

Now in my system information for FFXIV the graphic device is shown as the "Intel(R) HD Graphics Family" but on my device manager for Display Adapters it shows both the Intel(R) HD Graphics Family and the NVIDIA GeFore GT 550M

Can anyone tell me as to why FFXIV system config is only using the Intel and not the NVIDIA?

I couldn't tell you specifically why FFXIV isn't using your real graphics card, but you might want to disable your Intel HD graphics and see what happens. Either from the device manager or the bios.

The GT 550M is fully capable of running the game, so this is likely a configuration problem rather than a hardware or directX problem.
