It obviously wasn't an emergency because it was planned and posted on 9/18/2013 at 0842 hours. So why take down all NA servers during literally the busiest play hours??

I understand it's morning time in Japan, but maybe start after lunch??

Yes, it is because it is a Japanese company. This game was, initially, made for the Japanese people. Also, though, since the Japanese servers can be played on by those of us not in Japan, I think it's a type of fairness. If one set of servers can't play, then neither can the others. It's only two hours...at least it's not 8.

I also agree with Remilia. It is not just us 'NA customer base' that is getting it, it is the whole customer base, including Europe.

No, they were the EU/NA servers. Not the NA servers.

Not really. I figure this maintenance has more to to do with character creations, if you've been watching the notices about it, you'll see that the NA and JP data centers have alternated between "mostly x's" and the last notice showed all the JP servers clear.

If they do something about the hackmovers I'll be impressed.

Yea, they are also some of the biggest whiners right now. Pretty sure most of us will get over only two hours of lost play time, though.
