    Not really, they are two different things. If the Dev's meant for them to be the same thing then they would have called them the same name. Also Unaspected Crystals still have power in them, Deaspected Crystals do not. Hence why Beastmen can use the Unaspected Crystals to summon primals. I dont think you will be able to summon anything with a crystal that has all power drained from it

    I was just throwing it out there. They could be two completely different things. It's a Fantasy game. There's no reason to assume that "unaspected" and "deaspected" are the same, made the same way, serve the same purpose, etc. I mean, I am on your side that I assume they're the same or similar, but they have different names. So who knows.

    Patched it? I got one earlier today or yesterday. Also, the npcs all still have the same text warning of impending doom and bad weather and deaspected crystals.

    Haha what if deaspected crystals are just crystal fatigue, as an anti-shardfarming mechanism and aren't used for anything.

    Good thought, someone said it is Materia or perhaps it is a catalyst for that new crafting system that is being worked on. I guess that is as good as a guess as any.
