The SMN and Carbuncle...

I know what you mean about Carbuncle - I love the summon and when I learnt White Mage used Arcanist as a sub class I kinda hoped it allowed White Mages to use Carbuncles as well (I know it wouldn't do much, but I can hope).

Anyhows from what I found out so far levelling up my Summoner you do not lose Carbuncle at all and can keep summoning it as normal. Only Scholars lose Carbuncle until change back to Arcanist or switch to Summoner.

Ignore that, having looked it up it seems you lose them for Titan etc

As it stands, I'm level 50, but I didn't progress the SMN quests so I actually haven't unlocked Garuda yet. Honestly there isn't much of a loss for that, as Spur is almost identical to Rouse and apparently Enkindle is underwhelming anyway. I'm also playing on the PS3 and my hotbar doesn't have room for Rouse and Spur anyway, especially since you can't have multiple hotbars when you have a pet out, something I really hope changes sometime soon.

I'm more worried about when more content gets released and there may be more pressure to finish questing, like getting egis for leviathan ramuh and shiva if they do get them over time.
