    Warriors need an improvement badly.

So I have a 50 warrior, decently geared, and I am noticing we just take WAY to much damage, Threat is no problem, we can even dps a lil, but we really need some damage reduction toggles like paladin has. As a 50 warrior I am getting sick and tired of hearing whm's moan and while about having to heal me in instances. Yeah I do take alot of damage but sorry I can't do anything about it. Why not add 20% dmg reduction to Defiance? like the paladins shield oath? sure we don't get all the extra dmg reduction skills but that 20% would go a long way for us.

Anyone else agree with me that warriors needs some more tank tools? Because as we are, were really just as squishy as a dps. All in All square: Fix us, or at least allow us to queue up as dps or tank.

If you level Paladin, you should be able to cross class some abilities that will help with tanking and damage reduction. Most jobs benefit from augmenting them with cross class skills!

As Gehtyn said, you can (and should) use cross class skills from Paladin.

Keep in mind that WAR has the most HP of any class in the game. So they're much less squishy than DPS classes. While PLD relies on damage mitigation, WAR relies on its deep HP pool and self heals from attacks and skills.

You're only level 39 Marauder. Give it some time so you can learn the class before suggesting that it's broken.

This is my old legacy char, my current char is a 50 warrior in most AK/some DL and mythic tome stuff. On a diffrent server. Also, I have flash, provoke, and the +20% more hp from heals from glad, but I am not able to take any of the damage reduction skills it seems. Also from what I been told warriors high hp means 0 in bahamuts coil, 7500 hp warriors just get crapped on compared to paladins due to the dmg reduction plds have and such.

It doesn't need a change, Warrior/Marauder isn't a standard tank like Paladin/Gladiator is. War/Mrd is a high HP, DPS tank that uses life drain skills to mitigate damage, over using damage reduction skills.

As for white mages whining about healing you, it's their job to heal, what right do they have to complain about having to heal someone. Seriously, where is the logic in that? "Duh, i'mma be healer type, and then get mad when people need me to heal them". They consciously chose to be a healer, so they have no right to whine about having to do their job as a healer. You're the tank, it's your job to hold aggro, and take damage so others don't have to take any/as much, which you're doing, you're going to take lots of damage, and the healer helps you to sit there for longer. Any healer that complains, should just go play some other role, or quit this game.

From everything I've read - you need to maximize your use not of mitigation, but of DPSing so as to boost self heals, and the self heals well timed to work with healers.

The biggest problem seems to be training healers to not try and use the same 'rotation / priority system' for both tank classes, and to train warrior tanks to stop gearing for health, and start gearing for offense.

You want to boost your DPS, not to do more damage, but because of the side effect of it boosting self healing. And you need to get used to being at 50-75% health most of the time, as do your healers - the paladin needs to be topped off, the warrior doesn't, and from what I read makes good use of that excess as a buffer against overhealing.

Caveat being that I get this from reading posts of warriors taking on all content in the game - a wide spectrum. But my own experience is limited to level 23 and the dungeons / guildhests thus far, plus 7 years of tanking in many other MMOs with both mitigation and self-healing tanks.

Warrior already does good damage on it's own, but it's not a DD class, it's a Tanky DPS, meaning that it's damage comes built in, through equipment, and it's skills, thus the focus for it should be on vitality building. Being able to steal back more health is moot if you have a smaller HP pool. Warrior has some pretty good 'life steal' skills, that you don't need to pump your attribute points into strength to improve. Not to mention that Warrior gear, is geared towards HP and defense. So to gear for offense, you'll have to start using weaker defense gear, giving you an even smaller HP pool, and less defense, making you one terrible tank.

If you absolutely must include more strength, use materia, but you honestly don't need it. The reason you see people say to point for strength, is for holding aggro, which is moot as well because warrior has no issue hold aggro.
