If you bot nonstop for days and days without getting banned, eventually you'll have stacks and stacks of materials, potentially worth millions of gil.

If you then proceed to bomb the market by listing every single stack on several different characters, undercutting the existing bids by near 75% then suddenly what you have are stacks and stacks of worthless mats.

They're very efficient gatherers these people, but at the same time they're unbelievably stupid when it comes to the market. They have no economic insight what so ever.
