Is it easier with more gear? well of coarse it is, but even without the fights are jokes. To be honest you should HAVE to do them in AF in order to progress the quest to show you have some skill, anyone can wait till way outgear and get by...
I am sure you are right, I haven't done the fights yet because I been doing other things, I simply see too many complaints so I thought I'd offer a solution. Coming from TERA and mastering Manaya's Core Hard Mode, I haven't found anything in ARR to be remotely close to as challenging. FFXI taught us discipline, MCHM teaches you donuts are bad for you.
