Ok so I was leveling ALC, and needed some aldgoat horns. So I went out as SMN with Garuda and started blowing up lots of goats, tagging them with Ruin 2 and farming loads. Within an hour I was accused of being a bot. I didn't answer the accuser a couple of tells, then he got all I GOT YOU in tell and I blisted him.

Later, still leveling ALC, blue landtrap leaves farming, back on SMN and blowing up the Kedtraps (whilst as a sideline helping miners doing leves round there, it's infested with agro traps)... within an hour I was accused of being a bot. Just because I was better at farming with Ruin 2 and Garuda than he was on a level 25 meleer (sigh).

Blimey stop assuming because someone is *farming* they're a bot!

Maybe you haven't seen all the other bots zipping around but people ARE indeed botting.

I got the same thing, ironically I was also farming aldgoats for my LWing. I found a nice spot where they respawn quickly, so I was running in a circle mindlessly killing them in mass amounts. I figured I was doing the zone a favor by sticking to one spot since there are lots more aldgoats outside of my little circle that people could still easily use for their own farming or questing needs. Within one hour someone was shouting to zone that I was a bot. -_-

Probably being accused because someone was trying to kill mobs for a quest and you were tagging/killing them before he could get credit. I had that issue crop up a few times before, and regardless of my being polite in asking them to leave a few for my quest, yeah they got really pissed off, dunno why!

Never said anything regarding being a bot, "just don't tag everything for a round" so I can finish the quest.

The guy who spammed me at aldgoats threatened me with a bot report. I'm responding with this thread. Why should I have to justify my actions to someone in game who is being outfarmed?

If you are accused of being a bot in a Shout, quickly respond in Shout as well, because i'm pretty sure bots don't converse or respond with meaningful replies.

So I would be sure to Shout back. You know, something like "Bots can't talk to you, Mister [fill in shouter's name which would require a Copy/Paste or a pair of real eyeballs]"

I'm fairly sure there was a rule against Hoarding in XI, to try to keep people from doing such things. Is there not one for XIV (yet)? It is rather annoying to run out and try to kill a mob for a quest, or to farm for your own crafts, and have someone with massive AoE's just obliterating everything in sight. Last I checked Hydaelyn didn't revolve solely around you, and as previously stated a simple response to the guy pointing fingers would have sufficed and avoided this thread entirely. I understand you have crafts to level, but others do as well, a wee bit of courtesy while farming goes quite a ways. Also, what's the point in mass farming when mobs are almost instant respawns, unlike XI where it took zomg *minutes* for them to come back?

I've posted this before, but this game needs a DoL to replace farming monsters...

Prospect/Triangulate show Mining/Botany locations, a new DoL would have an ability which shows various things like Docile Diremites, or Dead Aldgoats, which you can run up to and harvest Web/Horns/Skin/etc.

Do I want this to avoid the mad competition I face farming Snurble Tufts and Fleeces? Maybe.
Do I want this to avoid getting in the way of people who want to do their Hunting Log/quests/etc? Maybe.

Real reason I want this? So I no longer have to kill sheep. At all. Ever. Seriously. Killing sheep in this game makes me feel... Wrong...
