i hope they are fixing skill response times and latency issues and the such (but probably not). ATM it takes about 15 clicks to hit an ability off the GCD
Explain this - Because judging from the videos I see uploaded it "takes 15 clicks for an ability to fire" is people trying to get it to go off the very second it comes off CD so they're spamming the hell out of the button, I've had no issues with skills not firing hitting it just before it CDs because the game queues a skill 0.5 ahead of CD.
You need to wait for you animation to end before u can cast another ability whether its on or off the GCD
I don't think this is true (altho you maybe somewhat right). I'll give you an example. Suppose I use bootshine and then instantly hit my steel peek ability (which is an instant attack, off the GCD), both attacks deal damage at the same time regardless of the animation. This is the way its supposed to work, but more often then not, im sitting there mashing perfect balance with internal release and nothing is happening.
Another example is if I use bootshine and then howling fist at the same time, bootshine's animation gets cancled (the damage still happens) and howling fist animaton takes over and both attacks hit at the same time.
This is NOT how it works in FFXIV, instant means it has no cast time, but does not mean it is going to happen the second you hit the skill, if your in the middle of one skill you have to wait for that skills animation to end to use the next skill (and it does not queue to go when animation ends, you must hit the skill again). This isnt what your used to from other games, but it is ALOT more realistic as I dont know about you but I dont see my WAR using his 1 axe to simultaniously do 2 different skills with that 1 axe.I don't think this is true (altho you maybe somewhat right). I'll give you an example. Suppose I use bootshine and then instantly hit my steel peek ability (which is an instant attack, off the GCD), both attacks deal damage at the same time regardless of the animation. There are very few fights where off GCD skills are required to be used to stop something (only time this type of said "issue" would really matter), and the ones that do are not zerg time limit fights, so if its your job to use said skill its also your job to know when in the scripted rotation it is needed and not be locked into other animations.
I do not recall my buff or bloodletter animations being cut off and GCD skills fireing off when in animation of my offGCD instant skills, I recall the opposite and have seen many posts that disagree with this on the forums. But maybe you are correct. But either way, the issue is the instant off GCD skills are normally the ones that you need to use in a pinch, and those for sure are locked out till your previous skills animation is over

Yeah, definitely not true. I interrupt animations not on my GCD with ones that are on my GCD all the time as an archer, and I get full damage for both moves. In fact, if i COULDN'T do that with my archer, he wouldn't be as beast mode in DPS as he is.
How dare they repair and improve their systems, would you prefer playing with broken mechanics and such instead? I'd take these maintenances over bugs and issues that never get fixed.
