And how are you supposed to level a craft that requires X drop when you have none of them and you have a job that can farm X? It eliminates the usefulness of having a melee/mage job to assist your DOH ones.
If you are interfering with people doing quests, you could be a good person and leave some for them. Just a thought, as many of the mat dropping mobs are for quests too. If you are farming a mob, pick a smaller group, not every single one in a big area, to let others also get the mats.
When I notice someone trying to do a quest, I tag them and let them kill it so they get credit and I get my mats.If you are interfering with people doing quests, you could be a good person and leave some for them. Win-win.
I don't see why more ppl don't do this. If I see someone else attacking a mob I claimed I'm usually guessing they need it for a quest so I go and claim my next target and let them kill. I'm there for the material drops not the I got credit for the mob kill.
You can farm without killing half a dozen mobs at a time, I've been doing it on my Warrior just fine....1 at a time. I kill the mob I claim, then if possible claim another to kill. If I gank a mob from someone who's drawn out on it, with say...Tomahawk, I then apologize. I'm a firm believer in courtesy and manners when it comes to interactions with others online, normally. If they come at me negatively, then yes, I will retaliate in kind. To think you have to farm hordes of mobs just to get your goodies faster is both annoying and inconsiderate to other farmers / adventurers just trying to quest. :/
Aye, and that can take forever, depending on what you're farming. It can take hours of being in one area to gather enough diremite webs to level my weaving. :P Some things drop a lot more, or you need a lot less. Like when farming for Aldgoat skins for leatherworker, the drop rate was either better or it didn't take as many. Don't remember which, but Aldgoat was easy...webs not so much. :PYou can farm without killing half a dozen mobs at a time, I've been doing it on my Warrior just fine....1 at a time. I leave room for other people. I take up on section, there is another section of banemite close by, and another section a little further off, so people who need it for quests or farming can have their share. Of course, if someone asked me if I could give a few over for a quest, I would gladly give it to them to quest it, and continue when he's done. Also noticed it's far more fun to farm in a party, at least with one person. Less webs, but it's so boring alone. :P
Also, respond to the tell. There are bots everywhere making some people paranoid, and they should be reported, but how can we tell who is a bot and who is not?
Oh, and I agree with the person who feels bad for killing sheep...that's next on my list and I love the adorable sheep. D:
