It obviously wasn't an emergency because it was planned and posted on 9/18/2013 at 0842 hours. So why take down all NA servers during literally the busiest play hours??
I understand it's morning time in Japan, but maybe start after lunch??

Because they have no respect for the NA customer base.
Amazing.. Because a Jp Company doesn't cater to the NA customer base they have no respect. Yet you expect them to have their workforce do server work in the time its inconvenient for them. /Boggle. I'm in NA and it simply baffles me how people in this country have such an inflated sense of entitlement.

You know that there are also EU servers, yes?
Yea, I guess it's good for euro players. 2am there right? Still if they pushed the maintenance to 1pm Japanese time then its 7am europe and 11pm NA. Would have been a significantly better time.
SWG: Europeans got shafted
SWTOR: Europeans got shafted.
Other MMOs: NA always get favored.
Hope you understand what we Europeans have to deal with in every online game where services aren't seperated. Even then NA still gets favored (even if EU has a larger player base)
Nor did any company ever had any for their EU customer base.
This must be your first online game. Player base doesn't matter squat. Look at other online games. Some of them have a much much MUCHHHHH larger EU player base than NA yet EU is still second hand. Learn to deal with it as we Europeans had to for many years.

Get off your high horse. Plenty of online games out there where EU has a much larger player base but is still treated as second hand. We however, learned to deal with it.
But OH NOES now NA gets to be in EU players' shoes for a change! It's the end of the world folks.
Company is located in Japan.
Franchise is originally Japanese.
Why should they provide maintenance on times that suit NA players?
Don't like the maintenance times? Move to Japan. You'll get more suitable times then.
Let's hope SE isn't as bad at business as you would be. "Don't like our maintenance times? Tough, move to our country". You know what most customers response would be? I think I''ll just spend my money elsewhere. Which might be what ends up happening.SWG: Europeans got shafted
