Quest markers are good to always be there. If you know where to go, go. If you don't know where to go, look. Knowing where to go, or insisting that you find out yourself doesn't make you smart or intelligent at all. I know my way around the world. I still throw the map open to see exactly where the destination is.

That's not smart, or intelligent. It just makes sense to.

I agree it's probably not needed to mark everything. But, I don't think it hurts anything. After completeing 15 rank 30 quests, I actually did like it to show me where to go next. Ya maybe I'm a little lazy, but it was nice to just follow the path instead of wandering around looking for camps.

If finding out where to go makes you feel like you're accomplished, I really don't think you're that far ahead of the people who need directions where to go in terms of development.

No one of much skill or talent level gets a sense of accomplishment out of finding where the Amal'ja grunts are for the captor's ring quest series. Sorry. Just put where it is on the map.

THIS. I'm not sure what makes you feel like finding an NPC is a competition, but that's what you're describing. Do you really feel special every time you find a gas station on the side of the road and fill your gas tank? Nope, because it's a mundane task.

So is anyone who actually reads my entire OP going to reply? Or is the train of people who only read the title going to continue? -_-

Even if it doesn't "Hurt anything", don't you think it's stupid(is this word allowed? let's see)how much the game holds our hand and tells us exactly where to go and what to do multiple times in multiple ways?

We all read everything. There's just nothing much to it.

You balk at the straw-man "2 year old" because for some reason you feel proud of pulling your pants up by yourself. To the rest of us, we don't really give anyone any intelligence, talent, skill, or performance points for knowing where to go for quests.

You feel proud for performing secretarial tasks, I will have a secretary mark where to go on my map because I have better things to do than wander around and act like that makes me a good player.

I read your OP. I just don't agree with it. I like Quests and Side Quests the way they are. I'd like some more difficult content in the future, but for what it is - it works just fine. Maybe 12 year olds need their hand held. You don't decide who can or can't play, what age group or reading level they are in, or whether or not they should read the quests or just look at the markers. It's not your call. I don't agree. Also, I'm not insulted. I simply follow the markers as I see fit, or I don't if I understand the directions clearly.

Until this thread I never thought about it so I guess I don't find it "stupid" or anything else. It just exists and I exist around it. Sometimes I use it (if I start something but decide to log off and do it days later) and sometimes I don't. It's not a big deal. It's not really worth a thread. It's certainly not worth insulting each other over.

I wish you could toggle it off. It's way too easy. I want to be challenged by mobs and quest discriptions alike. That's why I like the easter event. At least you have to search for these spriggans instead of just following a yallow arrow. Ty, SE~ ^^

quest markers are for convenience, not to insult your intelligence. Plus if they weren't there people would be getting bombarded with questions like "where do I go for this or that?" And sometimes, the NPC can even be difficult to pick out amongst a group when there are many people or NPCs around, so it helps you make sure you click the right one.

The reason people are attacking you Shiyo, is because you're making it seem like your point of view is the only correct one. Majority of us simply do not agree with you. You should take this as a loss and move on.
