I'm only level 27 CJN but I was planning from the start to be a WHM and as i'm nearing lvl 30, i started going around forums to get as much info as possible as to what i should work on from now on and what i should expect and your guide is definately a must!

This is an excellent guide! I can't think of anything that it doesn't cover. I think the point about not panicking is really helpful. I don't have a lot of experience in this game, but I know from being a healer in other mmos that it can be surprising how much healing you can actually do with just the basic efficient heals. If you have mana problems it's important to remember that the point of healing is keeping people alive and they are alive as long as they have 1 hp. Even when it isn't necessary to be mana efficient I always practice and try to ONLY use my most efficient heals to see what they situations they can handle. Usually they do the job 90% of the time.

    "Eye for an Eye
For 30 seconds, there is a 20% chance that when the targeted party member is struck, they take 10% less damage. This is another that's not going to have a hugely noticeable effect on how well you perform - it's a 2% damage reduction on average - but it's free so you might as well throw it on the tank for harder fights."

I'm going to point out that I believe this is wrong, though I will admit I could be wrong. Assuming I am right, what it does is, you use it on a party member (Tank, usually), and it gives them the Eye for an Eye shield. If the shield procs (20%), it gives the enemy a damage debuff of 10% for 20 seconds. It's still not huge, but it's still something.

Ah, you're probably right about that. That certainly makes it a bit better than I thought it was!

I happened to notice it while running Brayflox when I suddenly saw the Eye for an Eye marker on one of the bosses. It kinda clicked then what exactly it was doing.

    I have a question for you tab9,

Do you know what the MIND cap is in ARR ? Is it like in 1.0, 330-340 ? Or is it higher ?

No idea what the cap is, my gear isn't good enough to hit whatever it is yet. It's definitely higher than 330, and I'd guess towards the 500 range at least as I'm at 369 with very mediocre gear.

Brilliant guide, thanks! I'm a thaumaturge who's planning on giving conjurer a go, this makes it sound a lot of fun and I can't wait to try it.

Only thing I disagree on is the part about using damage spells.

You don't know how annoying it is to see another healer in Cleric Stance spamming Holy or Stone2. It doesn't speed the dungeon up at all, in fact we have to wait for you to regain 4k mana because you decided to take part in dealing damage. The only time this is acceptable in in Amdapor Keep against Demon Wall, and be sure to switch back before the adds come, he only does like 300 damage if no one gets hit and it helps the DPS out a little bit + I've never dropped below 80% mana in that fight.
Aside from that White Mage pulls enough Enmity, no need switching to DD and make yourself draw more.
