Well it doesn't come with a removal password so its probably referring to the serial number on the back....
Which wouldn't be too helpful in this case.
I've often had a fear of this happening - I wonder what steps you can take to make it less painful in case you do lose it.


I no longer have the emergency password then, I'm on the phone since it seems to be the only option available to me.

np, I do appreciate the help. I'd just like to know why SE made a security app for iOS and android users, but left the winphone users high and dry. I do recall people requested it, so it couldn't have been a demand issue.

well, it took me an hour and ten minutes, but I have resolved my issue, my thanks to all who posted.
The emergency password comes with the software token, meaning the ios/android app. The physical token doesn't have such a thing, the only way removing that is the support.
I'm always scared of my physical token dying, as I had bad support experiences with FFXI - but it seems it has improved alot by now![]()

ok here's my problem which kinda relates to the same issue (i guess), i took a week's holiday and did not log into FFXIV for all that period, i came back today and tried to login only to get the "password entered is invalid" error, tried a couple of times till i got locked out. waited for the lock-out period then tried again, got the same error, i searched a lot but found no solution so i stupidly deleted my software token because i thought reinstalling it might somehow help (yup stupid move, i know) now im stuck with no security token and i do not have access to my account to delete the token (which means i dont have the emergency delete code)
i know i need to call Support, but i live in Dubai and staying on hold (as i read from you guys' experiences) will cost me a fortune. of course i submitted a token but i doubt anybody will respond to that.
HELP please!!
