    Lost token, Need help

    I was on my way home today, and at some point, my security token somehow fell off my keychain. Since I was on a motorcycle at the time, it was lost to the highway with pretty much no hope of recovery. I would pick up the phone app, (considering how beat up my token was, I badly wanted to.) but I can't for one little problem as you can see from my phone:



    So now I can't log into the game, and I can't even log into my account to remove the token. Can anyone help me resolve this problem?

    P.S. If someone from SE reads this, I would humbly ask that you consider making a version of the software app for Windows phones.

    You'll have to call support to have it removed. From my experience it's best to call as early as possible because you're going to be waiting awhile, and if you call late in the day there's a good chance they'll disconnect you because support hours are over.

    thanks, but that info doesn't help too much without the number. Do you know know it by any chance?

    you don't need your token. you make an emergency code and they will send you a email that belongs to that account.

    from the support page:



    To remove the security token, log into the Square Enix Account Management System and go to "Services/Options"->"One-Time Password"-> "Security Token Usage Settings"->"Security Token Removal."

    After removing the Security Token, you will not need to enter a one-time password when you log in.

    * After removing a Security Token, you will not be able to use it again. If you wish to use a Security Token in the future, you will need to purchase a new one.

    * When the character is registered to a PlayOnline ID that uses a Mog Satchel in Final Fantasy XI, the Security Token can be used even after removing it. After removing the Security Token from a PlayOnline ID, the characters on that ID will not be able to use the Mog Satchel.

    edit: tried to do so, but after three years, I can't remember what I used for an emergency password.

    Good luck, be patient and polite even if you'll have a very hard time getting through, frustration can build up.

    I'm curios, what information would they require to remove the authenticator if you lost it/broke it/etc ?

    When they removed my token, they asked me my name, date of birth, address, and email address to verify who I was. It was a pretty quick process to have it removed aside from the 3 hours I spent waiting on hold.
