The page for the soundtrack on the Square Enix store says something about it being in the game. Do I already own the soundtrack if I own the game or should I pay the $50 if I want it?

The $50 Blu-Ray includes the songs of FF XIV 1.0. The current OST's are not purchaseable as of yet.
ah, damn, oh well.
That's correct, the only soundtracks available for FFXIV at the moment are the four 1.0 albums (the original FFXIV Field Tracks and Battle Tracks albums, and the more extensive Eorzean Frontiers, and the complete 1.0 OST Bluray album Before Meteor.
The only soundtrack for ARR specifically at the moment is the small six track CD Sounds of Eorzea that came with the Collector's Edition and is not available for purchase separately - this just has the three city daytime themes and the zone BGM for their immediate zones. A full OST album isn't yet available for ARR I'm sorry to say (although a lot of tracks in ARR are reused from 1.0 so as a start you could get Before Meteor to tide you over.![]()
Not sure if extracting the music is legal or not.
