fixed the first problem...still need help with the next one please

Almost every day i get the error -2146697211 when starting up ffxiv which prevents me from even logging in...it takes up to literally 24 hours to get fixed.

but since this site is offline during that time i wonder is it something i have to change or is square enix just messing up almost daily.

also, this doesn't only happen during maintenance i get it about 4 days every week.

I am no expert but I remember having a similar problem before, turns out it was because I was behind proxy server. Are you using proxy?

Right, just had this 'fun' myself and found a 'fix'.

a) restart your router/modem/other item that connects you to the net.
2) open a command prompt and type in "ipconfig /flushdns" then "ipconfig /release" and finally "ipconfig /renew".
iii) Try your client again.

This cleared my error and I was able to get back in game. Hope that helps.

Oh and for various values of useful; There's a thread in 'Accepted Bugs' concerning this topic.

EDIT: Huh, has anyone noticed this 'bug' seems to only crop up every 7 days?
