What happens after people burn through all that content in 1 year, though? Which would happen. Game lasts 1 year, they have nothingHonestly I think this would be more optimal then trickle content getting alittle bit at a time.
At least in this situation both the hardcore and the casuals will not run out of content for years.
If anyone no matter if you are hardcore or casual runs out of content or gets burt out of the content currently... it means the devs did something wrong. XIV needs alot more variety in endgame and a whole lot more content if they hope the game will last anywhere near as long as XI did. The content design prevents them from doing what XI did and slowly releasing it. IT needs to be quick and in massive quantities to keep up with the 40hr per week players. A good mmo NO ONE will be able to finish before content is launch, including the no lifers.

doesnt +1 require 900 ToM? how did you get 1800 already to be able to get +1 on both with a cap of 300 a week? you would have to have hit 50 and gotten 300 ToM before the first reset and if that is the case it is a no wonder youre so bored. Im not saying that the endgame isnt lacking but you went a tad bit beyond rushing it.
The guy has a point, I do have full DL and relic+1 and the speed runs helped for half for it, but I wouldn't start over with how things are at the moment.
The situation is terrible. There is only ONE dungeon for the ToMs and very little options for ToPs.
FF14 did two major mistakes in my opinion.
1) They released with barely any level 50 dungeon. Most mmos, even Guild Wars 2 known to have poor end game, released with more than one dungeon for end game currency or four max level dungeons...
2) They didn't learn from other mmos and didn't implement a RANDOM Duty Finder where we don't get bored so much because we get rewarded for doing anything that's level 50.
Overall, there is a huge gap between the nice levelling with a great story and the fun and challenging end game. The gearing process between the two is unfinished and as boring as it can get. We need hard modes for current lower level dungeons and fast, not just with the 2.1 patch.
2.1 Please look forward to it.
Mention of a random duty that rewards players for filling gaps in the community. May not end up being random 50 dungeons but it sounds like the rewards will be scaled for helping the community as a whole.

I don't know if you've seen this thread, but it might help. It's got a list of some of the linkshells and free companies on your server, with their websites. I suppose you could browse their about us pages and see if anything clicks with you or if there are any you'd like to join. It sounds like you would enjoy a social shell, which doesn't necessarily preclude them from doing game content. In any case, most of these are established and put together enough to at least have web sties, so they might be more active than your current! I hope you find a good one- finding the ls you fit with can really make the game a lot of fun!I've joined quite a few in the short time this game has been running and hardly any of them talk. I figured it could be a community/server/me thing and decided to stick with one for a bit to see if things change. If it doesn't I'm well aware of the fact that I can join another. :/

In addition to my last post and the predictable responses, just a little sidekick as comparison: TESO will be released with 16 dungeons! All those dungeons will be replay-able in a Heroic version with 50. From 1 to 50 you will need 120 to 150 hours.
Overall from all other Infos together this is more content than 2.1 2.2 and 2.3 together.
Now say again regarding FFXIV "of course they cannot release the game with a lot of endgame content"
They can`t expect everyone to be casual who needs 5 weeks to 50 and another 10 weeks to see endgame content. There are always people that are rushing and seeking variety in endgame, variety which does not exist here currently.
