Crafting isn't much more interesting for that you just save up a bunch form those hours of hitting the same nodes and then sit in one place hitting the same abilities finishing hundreds of items. Leveling alts after you have done all the quests is rather terrible unless you make an entire new character but you cant send anything between characters so that's a big pain. People play mmos to slay bad guys, crafting is for a niche crowd and i hope it stays that way otherwise nobody will ever need to buy my items.
The actual farming isn't the fun part. Anyone with common sense knows that... It's making money that's fun!
