D Pad Gamepad Friendly Targetting?

I noticed that i can tab friendly/enemy with Left/Right D Pad and I just self target with Up/Down. Is there a way to make it only tab friendlys with up or down?

Example: I wanted to cast "Physick" on the player who was being attacked by the boss I was attacking but Left/Right D Pad wouldnt target him.

What might help me is a Target of Target casting, whats the macro for that?

It wouldn't target him because you most likely didn't select a targeting preset that had 'Other PC' listed on it.

In my case I would need to change to the "friends" preset in order for it to cycle through other players only.
This is fully adjustable however, so don't think that you have to keep switching presets, though adding more listings to the preset will make it become more time-consuming in the cycle process, so I think it's, at most times best to keep the presets separate.

I'm unsure about any macros, sorry. :/

The macro is /target <tt>. This will swap to whatever your target is targeting.

Also, it is very likely that you have the auto-filter on, which by default makes it so you can only target NPCs and Enemies when your weapon is drawn (which includes after casting a spell). You have three options:

1: You can put your weapon away by pushing in the Left stick (L3) when you do not have anything targeted. This will return you to the "All" filter.

2: Use the Target-of-target macro I mentioned above and stick it on your crossbar.

3: Enter your character config and go to the Filters tab, disable the option that makes your filter change depending on if your weapon is drawn. Scroll down under that and you will get options to make up to 4 custom filters that you activate by pressing L1 + any of the 4 face buttons.


Also for future reference, when you are in a party Up and down will cycle through your party list starting with you, no matter if your target settings are on enemies-only or anything else. Since you were solo it only targets you.

Up/Down rotates through your party/pets. Left right rotates thorugh everyone. So I altered left right to be NPCs/Enemies/Objects when weapon is drawn and everything works great...except raising - I need to figure that out.
