abusing 3rd party software for gathering(Encourage to report)

Thanks for the heads-up about this. I read this thread earlier in the day, then while I was mining later tonight, I actually saw someone teleporting in the area I was in. The actually teleported right in front of me while I was mining at one of the nods. I then watched them teleport from nod to nod in the area, and they were indeed in stealth mode to avoid monster encounters. I reported them as you suggested. To be honest, if you hadn't raise this as an issue, I would probably not though much of it, or just thought that it was odd.

The thing I can't get over is how blatant this is, along with the gold-sellers and there /tells. I got one the other day as soon as I logged in, which isn't a surprise, but then when I walked of the hotel I was staying at, I saw the gold-seller bot that sent me the message standing right there in front of the inn. I have been reporting gold sellers as soon as I figured out how. I just don't have the energy to reporting them all.

However, I am enjoying Final Fantasy XIV.

Yes, you should report all of these as soon as you see them. I know first-hand how frustrating it is to report them and see nothing happening, as with the fleece farming bots I've witnessed in Coerthas. However, keep doing it.

The effect this behaviour has on our server economies is devastating and it needs to be stopped. It facilitates RMT money-making and no honest, decent person wants that in FFXIV. Let's get rid of them.

Should also be aware that not every bot teleports. Have seen a few that seemed like normal players, until I started to get a bit suspicious, since nobody can be as crazy as to mine as much as I do. :P They jump occasionally, one had a companion and both I've seen were in known guilds. However, when you start to notice their path, maybe even place your character in it and wait for them to make a full lap, you'll see it's on perfect rails, even if it doesn't always jump in the same spots. Naturally they won't respond to tells or /say.

One of them was at Bluefog, and even had a function to backtrack and run in circles off path when one of the fates spawned in the mining area.

This is getting frustrating and it's hard to believe anything is being done about it. Every lvl5-lvl10 mining/botany node always has at least one or two bots there on my server.

Saw this today and reported it as well.

Now I understand how they can make so much gil. These toons are cheating and making all that gil to sell through gil selling web sites probably.

They always find a way to ruin the games.

Saw the same this today that StarMarmot did. Didn't think anything of it until they started running in the exact same patterns every single time. And wouldn't even run straight at the nodes as they got closer to them they would run the same 'rail' until they get close to a node then dart over to the one they wanted to harvest.

It's mind numbing to harvest a few hundred items but at least don't bot!
