If that's the will of the majority, then so be it. I know it sounds harsh, but an up-or-down vote on those types of things is the only fair resolution under the current system. For what it's worth, I think there are much better resolutions if they adopt changes to the current queue system. I've seen some great ones suggested on this site.
This very person was in Garuda, he went AFK right away, when we ended up wiping he respawned, ran up to garuda and died again, he didnt accept any rezzes and didnt say a word.
i thought people couldnt get any lower, but i guess not. people AFKing at any time is wrong. they do need to be kicked and something needs to be done about this.

Actually I think what he examples will be more abused. It will also be used to kick cutscenes watchers, new player and any other reasons. Vote kick is a terrible idea. The amount of people afking is too few to warrant vote kick.
I think it needs to be implemented. I never had any issues with the vote kick in WoW and I used it quite a few times with troll players. Just the other day in CM I had a tank that refused to take aggro from bosses/adds. I asked him why he wasn't doing his job and his response was that he didn't feel like it because he was "busy starring at his hot gf who has big boobs." Name was Dofty Reborn. I immediately left after dying 3 times already. There would be less trolling if a kick feature was implemented. As it stands, it takes just one troll to ruin a party. If you have a vote kick, you would need the majority of the vote to troll one person - that is a lot less likely to happen.

A vote kick system certainly does need to be implemented. It is much more unlikely that a group of people will abuse something than a single person. That being said, any system needs to be policed - if someone feels they were vote kicked without just cause they should be able to report it. If someone abuses either the vote kick or report system then take these tools away from them until they learn to behave themselves.
It is much easier to police an active system than it is to do something about some guy who goes afk and could simply claim lag/dc etc...
I think in WoW, there were some dungeons (mainly hard ones) where you would die if you were not in the boss area, at least for the final stage. I clearly remember doing a dungeon in cataclysm where I dc'd, group didn't kick me, and when I got back on they were already fighting the boss. I immediately started taking massive damage despite being nowhere near an enemy and died. Same thing happened to me in a raid, also cata I think, I was having terrible lag and I was supposed to jump into a wind to move me across to a platform, but the lag made me fall, once everyone moved onto the next platform again and I was too far out of range of everyone else, along came the DOT again.
Maybe something similar to this could be beneficial. If they're afking they might not care about being dead if they arent there or not, but it does mean they take a hit to gear durability. Or even just, if you aren't in range of a boss fight, you get no reward.
So many of the problems we're seeing with AFK players and other trolls would be immediately fixed with Vote to Kick. The game needs this feature, ASAP.
Any feature, in any MMO, will be abused by some segment of the population. However, there are safeguards and restrictions they can install so that this will be minimized. Depending on party size, they can adjust how many players in the group are required to agree to kick anyone. I'm tempted to say that everyone in the party (minus the one being kicked) should be required to agree, in order to have the kick be approved. Successive kicks to new members of the party can be controlled, with limitations on how many kicks you are even allowed to do in a given dungeon. Furthermore, no kicks during combat. No kicks during cutscenes. No kicking anyone after the final boss, or possibly during any looting window they haven't already rolled on. The particulars can probably be worked out by people who are smarter than I, but the point is a Vote to Kick feature can be installed smartly, in a way that discourages abuse.I can see an afk kicker being exploited by people who group up and queue for duty finder (it would depend on the amount of votes required) just to harass people. A group of 5 entering either CM or Prae and constantly votekicking the other 3 and anyone else who joins since they're the majority (or 7 people but that wouldn't be as bad).
The fact that you can imagine some rare scenarios in which an organized group of trolls could intentionally go out of their way to cause some mischief, is kind of petty. The overall impact of this feature would be a vast improvement, considering how easy/common it is for a single player to completely ruin the run for everybody in the group.
As I said, you can install limitations and safeguards into the Vote to Kick interface. If this is a player's first time in the dungeon, he can't be kicked during a cutscene. Heck, maybe new players can't be kicked at all. You can only be "new" to a dungeon once. Also, there are bonuses for running a dungeon with someone who is there for the first time. If those bonuses need to be increased, then fine. There are a million things they can do, and ways to limit kicks. Instead of using your imagination to make up worst-case scenarios, try using it to imagine the game devs are not total idiots and won't just throw features in willy-nilly without forethought.
I could just as easily say that everyone who is against Vote to Kick is a troll who is trying to ruin people's dungeons or AFK leech in Castrum. See how presumptuous and inane that is?
We already have people who are using macros, autorun, or other methods to bypass auto-logout. And how long does somebody have to be "AFK" in a dungeon, in order to be kicked out? What if you're running a dungeon, and you say "Guys, I have to take care of something, can we take a break for 5 minutes?" Doesn't seem at all unreasonable to me. Okay, so how long is the AFK timer in dungeons? 5 minutes? 10 minutes? Do you seriously want Duty Finder people stuck with some AFK troll for 5-10 minutes? And that's assuming they actually are away from their keyboard, and can't simply take one step forward or click their mouse on something to not be "AFK" anymore, just to screw with people.
How would you know? Any game that has Vote to Kick, by definition, there won't be any AFK players in dungeons.
Uh huh...? And how about the weeks, months, years that followed? There may or may not be a rush of trolls trying to abuse Vote to Kick at first, just for the novelty of it -- or just to "prove" how right they were that Vote to Kick was a bad idea. But in the long run, the benefits far outweight the costs.
I played WoW for years, and Vote to Kick was an invaluable tool for getting rid of problem individuals. Without it, DF would have been a haven for trolls, the way this game is now.
Since when do you people put so much faith in forum stories, anyway? You clearly don't believe all the threads about jerks and AFKs in dungeons, or don't think it's a real problem. And yet, if it's a post saying Vote to Kick is bad, you believe in it 100%. I have seen posts about anything and everything, on boths sides of every issue possible. What does that have to do with anything?
I've had so many people, including a whm or a sch, go into the phase one fight with Livia and just afk till phase 2 or stand there. Whenever I call them out on it cause I'm the tank they always go, "Oh, this fight is so easy! Doesn't need any healing!" Yea I sure wish I could be a lazy useless player like you.
Pull your head out of your ass and help your party get the dungeon done. It always makes me laugh hard when these people ask for a speed run too, I make sure to pull all the trash mobs then![]()
