Even if you had it as an event, the GM's would be overpowered by the fact they're not random. If I was a GM and incontrol of something; your provoke wouldnt work, enmity would mean nothing I'd go for the mage first lol and I'd gain like 3000 tp and knock out 3 skills on a mage, flooring them, do same on rest. I'd do stun skills when I see magics being casted or whatever, dispel(if i had it) like nuts, paralyze/slow skills all time (if i had it) and so on.

It could only be fun if the GM was to be dumbed down (eg not act like how i would) and just acted like a mob, but then that'd be pointless because thats no different than a normal nm mob...

I'm not shooting down the idea I just think its very difficult. I've seen it happen though, on Aion release in the Arena you used to be able to fight a GM if they showed up and group them but they were way overpowered and ment nothing and eventually it stopped (as this was somethings GM's just did, like the RMT nuking they did, it wasnt something NCSoft said to do).

In an MMO such as Firefall this could be better because of its FPS type style. And they've already done players vs developers pvp's.

You're worried that if the GM is hosting an event, who will be there to do his job? Hosting events is part of the GM's job! its not like there only one GM per server on duty!

I fail to see how "difficult" doesn't result in "fun", People remember the hard to kill event mobs, such as the Christmas trees of ffxi or the samurai armors. In everquest, random GM events used to pop up all the time. People having been asking for harder mobs constantly. and Even your strategy(Which may not even exist depending on the mob you are controlling) isn't unbeatable.
