Can't Gather Copper Ore

I played ff14 when it forst came out and it was easy to gather copper ore around Camp Bearded rock. I haven't played for a while because the interface of this game is a click fest but I recently came back to the game. I then started a new character and I've noticed that when I mine around Bearded Rock all I'm getting is Windrocks, saltpeter shells, lugworms...etc. But I never get Copper Ore. I am at level 11 in mining now and I still havent gotten a single piece. I'm using a " Weathered Pickaxe " My stats are as follows;
Str=50, vit=50,dex=50,int=13,mind=16,piety=14.

Can someone help me? I'd reallly like to start mining Copper Ore?

Head to grade 2 nodes - you're ready for them anyway. Skull Valley is Grade 2.

On the vertical slider, you'll want to pick 3rd notch from the top.

The database I'm looking at doesn't list copper ore as being available at Bearded Rock any more.

as stated by catapult that is correct, they moved alot of the items about after the start of the game, i assume after you stopped playing

I find it better to not waste time on mining copper ore but buy it from a vendor, its dirt cheap under 500 each. Fund this by doing craft, leves, selling off goods ect. All three cites have a vendor that sells it.

That would kind of defeat the point. I don't want to pay for my metal, I want to go and get it myself. Far more satisfying that way.

Good way is to also kill Copper Coblyn. Can get yellow copper ores too, which is nice cuz you can make higher tier nuggets with HQs, plus better skillup as the synth is R08 GLD/BSM
