Any word on if and when SE will do something about the hackers rampant in the world?

I'm sure by now most if not all of you have seen the hackers. This isn't a whining thread because someone is doing something better then me. I'm talking legit hackers.

Teleporting between nodes, mining, then teleporting to the next node. over and over again.

This is BS. I can't think of many MMOs out there that allowed cheating to go on for this long. Especially something that drastically impacts the economy. being able to teleport to each node over and over again means they run circles around people who actually attempt to gather.

I personally love playing as gathering/crafting classes...but there is no way i can stay competitive over bots. It is frustrating to see them do laps around me. all automated...risk free etc.

almost decided to quit and get GTA5 last night because i can't stand how unfair this game is getting for people who refuse to cheat...

While i can understand your frustration about people cheating please allow me to point out there have been multiple threads about this and using the search function would have easily allowed you to find these threads.
I can think of many MMO's that have cheating in them. Unfortunately it is practically impossible for any game company to prevent cheating 100%. they are always one step behind the people making these things. SE has always had a strong stance against cheating and they do as much as they can to keep it under control.

GTA V is great, get it anyway, you can always play a bit of both.

If you are teleporting node to node while running a botting program...then yes botting=hacking.

In this case it is. My understanding is the hack the game to mine inside the geography plus hack teleport points.

In 100% seriousness, the best response to this is to report it through the correct channels - in game and in the forums in the bugs section. Talking about it in the general discussion is just going to result in people throwing insults, or at best, arguing over the minutia of the difference between hacking and botting. The more people who report this - through the correct channels - the more likely it is that SE will take action.

They mention in that post using Game Logs to see who cheated, so keep reporting Hackers and Bots, then they can check the logs and take action- hopefully.

Botting =/= "hacking".

Teleporting node to node = hacking/cheating whether they're botting or not.

FFXI had a similar problem early on from the servers trusting whatever the client sent them for position data :|
