Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has stopped working...

Still getting this error... since first day of launch on my laptop.

Have heard it could be a driver issue. Updated video driver, working on sound driver now. But others have said they're getting the error even with updated drivers.

    Anyone have a definite fix?

I have the same issue, but I have tried reinstalls multiple times as well as a full OS reinstall. I've tried different drivers several times with nothing working. It doesn't matter if the game is on max or min settings.

    My specs:
    980x Extreme CPU (6 core 4.0ghz)
Radeon 7990 and 7970 in triple crossfire
    24gb ddr3 ram

There are no known fixes to this issue as of yet. I have been looking since launch.

I should add that I've re-installed FFXIV, and uninstalled/re-installed my video/sound drivers. Still getting the problem. I also got another problem where FFXIV goes black for 2 -3 seconds, then windows message says "Recovered from a video card error" or something like that. So, I'm guessing the problem has something to do with the video drivers.

    Specs:

    Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4700MQ CPU @ 2.40GHz
    8gb RAM
    Win 7, 64-bit

Video: Nvidia Geforce GT 750M (driver version 311.48)
Sound: Realtek HD Audio (not sure of driver version)

I just started getting this problem as well. I have never had any issues, however after last nights update my game seems to crash when I click play. I tried restarting my computer but I am still crashing between the launcher and the game.

    phenom II x6 @ 2.8
    16gb ram
    GTX 660
    Win 7, 64 bit

What is your power supply Braxy? If it's insufficient you can get the screen going black every now and again with that error message you got. Especially when it's under load. You might want to run dxdiag and see if anything comes up.

EDIT: Has this happened on other games Braxy, or is it only occurring when you attempt to run FF14?

I had this issue occur today, but the reason was completely unrelated. Apparently, they'd inactivated my account, and I had to change the password.

Once I checked my email and reset the password, I was able to log on just fine.

Have you tried reinstalling the game? Also are you using a proxy service? Because there are a couple out there that can cause FF14 to crash when using the wrong server.

I have been having this issue since Phase 4 myself, though after early access and launch it got tremendously worse. My specs are:

    980x Extreme CPU (6 core - 4.0 GHz)
    Radeon 7990 + 7970 in tri-crossfire
    24gb Ram
Win 7 64bit on SSD and game on seporate SSD

    I have tried:

    Reinstalling Game
Reinstalling OS and installing everything from scratch
    Trying different Drivers
    Changing in game settings
Testing with crossfire on / off
Testing different view modes (fullscreen / windowed)
    A bunch of other stuff.
