Listing Fee and Price Alteration Fee!

Any news if they plan to add either of these features? Prices are far too volatile at the moment and there is zero reason for it to change, in fact, it can only get worse as supply dwindles as people stop playing.

I personally go back to my retainer every hour or so to undercut who ever just undercut me and it's a vicious cycle with the prices sky-rocketing and plummeting constantly.

This has already been brought up here:
    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...e-change-taxes...

As far as I know, SE hasn't mentioned anything about doing so.

They could just put floors and ceilings on prices based on average sales price (they can get this data from the sales history), its much more user friendly than pre-taxing a player on an item which may never sell.

The more items that sell the stronger the average stability will become and the less chance of undercutting and price hiking having an effect.

Of course you would have to completely reset the markets, as much of the damage has already been done.

Price volatility is unavoidable when you make it so everyone can do everything and don't implement resource scarcity, at least in the near term.

In the long term, what will end up happening is the market effectively self-destructing.

Demand will dwindle. Supply is currently what some of you deem to be the problem. A miner goes out to level up and they spam a specific resource, instead of finding out which is in demand. Then they run back to MB, excited to become a gillionare!

Whats this, 63 other retainers did the same thing they did. Whomp whomp.

I had the patience to level mining to 17, during which time I made a obnoxious profit selling shards. The ore, to me, was better bought from those power leveling through it and had tons of it. The time would be wasted for me to go get it, instead I could be crafting. They have a supply and I have a demand.

So over and over again we see people throwing themselves at the Market Board, desperate to sell their "supply", regardless of demand. This of course kills the demand.

Removing gear from quest rewards, would help the system stabilize a little. In another month, people will be buying items for their 3rd or 4th class they're leveling or to SB farm. As is though some people are kiddin themselves if they think this isnt how the system will continue to be without Market Wards and Bazaar.

And you don't think this changes as the game gets older, instead of people levelling off X item and it being over abundant you have everyone at lvl 50 and doing the same on rare nodes.

So all of a sudden these so called rare items are now over-flooding the market.

You are just moving the goal post, it doesn't fix anything.

I agree that removing some of the gear rewards from quests would help slightly, but then people would just farm dungeons for gear instead.

SE have killed any chance of a good economy and crafting/gathering relationship like we had in 1.0.

They only spawn a certain amount every once in awhile. Rare nodes, that is. And HQ'ing them is whats rare and will continue to be rare forever. Also people already do farm dungeons for gear, but this promotes crafting as after 5 hours of doing something and NOT finishing or getting your item, youre more inclined to want to beef up to make the runs go smoother.

But we finally agree Jinko, without 1.0's Market Wards and Bazaars, it will be impossible for a healthy and successful (for everyone) game economy to exist.

@Waffles, I disagree. Market Wards were a good mechnic, in my opinion, it made players have to 'go shopping' to find what they specifically needed. It also made it so people would impulse buy off of a Bazaar. So you could get good prices simply because people have difficulty finding the item. It created a fake demand for items otherwise fairly well supplied.

I say break the damn game, bring back the way we bought and sold stuff in 1.0 (except for the "Market Ward" "zone")

Personally, I do not think SE will do anything till at least the free period is over. The silence, more to the point, a lack of anything other than "we apologize/we are working to correct....." should be a key indication. I mean come on, how many times can you say sorry but not fix the problem?
