If you've played FFXI (and I'm certain many here have), then the following names may seem familiar to you: Overlord Bakgodek, Za'Dha Adamantking, and Tzee Xicu the Manifest. I'm not familiar with the earlier era of XI, but I believe these bosses were hunted quite often (not so much in later days).

One thing I like is boss fights - and the Primals were a very good example of how you could essentially isolate a boss fight into a single dungeon-like area and make it seem really important/decisive/etc.

However, I rarely saw this with the Beastmen themselves. And considering how the Primals aren't always around to command them, the Beastmen have to have some kind of leadership among them. And if they do, they must be insanely strong, yes?

So why aren't there Beastman Lord Boss Trials for Amal'jaa/Ixal/Sahagin/Kobold/Sylph/Qiqirn/Mamool Ja/Gigas races? Furthermore, why do locations like Natalan/Sylphlands/Zahr'rak(?)/U'Ghamaro/Sahagin Nest have very little reason to visit them?

I think there needs to at least be some kind of high level boss of these kinds with a unique model, not unlike the above bosses I mentioned. Going through the Sylphlands MGS-style was fun and exciting at first, but then it was like.... why bother?

What do you guys think? Any thoughts?
