Just got this game...

im just going to throw this out there, emulate isnt broken, the mobs are just punks, emulate gives you the resistances of your enemy, your enemies need to have a couple attacks that arent in thier element/ physical, also needs to be more enemies at once so even if you make an enemy thats a breeze with emulate, you still got to beat his brother who can smash you with the physical attacks at the same time.

that or the gob/dodore it's not hard to have a few of each have a different element. it can't be too difficult to have one of the minions/bradaccios with a different element. if you had 2 with earth/2 with fire minions a single thm could not solo them by using emulate. that would solve the issue because emulate is only op against some mobs not them all. when you have multiple mobs is shouldn't be hard to incorporate different elements into the minions.

I never said I was waiting for them either. I said that people will try them out. And so they will. And they will realise when they do that FFXIV lacks so much, with the promise of so little in the future.

The game does not have the "sense of urgency" of other games at the moment. If you played and liked 11 for the fast-paced, always too much to do gaming, then you might be let down with 14. This game for the summer is awesome though. You can easily walk away when you friends say "Hey dude let's go to the pool". Because the only real action is NM's at the moment, you don't have to sign your life away to a linkshell. The direction seemed to be ultra casual when I first started and as time goes on it's starting to veer to more action and group orientation. I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing but I'm along for the ride.

This is coming from someone who only uses XIV as a glorified chatroom until more group based content is released but if you are enjoying the game and have friends who are more like you then the people you see complaining on Core then go ahead, reel them in. The game is f2p until its suitable anyway and content and huge changes will be dropping like crazy over the summer so you'll be getting hit with it patch after patch.

As for the current state of the game, i enjoy it alot I just have a very stubburn attitude when it comes to soloing. If I have to solo I will not play. this applies to any and all online games and even though i've played XI since NA release there has been occasions where i would cancel my sub for a few months because i was forced to solo ormy friends stopped playing for awhile.

Summary: Tell your friends to come on down to Eorzea and you all have a great time, if you happen to top out your level quickly there is more content on the way so you won't have to wait half as long as everyone here has.

Maybe SE should go further with the 'glorified chatroom' idea and make a Second Life type of MMO-virtual reality simulator... but obviously way cooler and Final Fantasy themed!

Please no! lol I only use MMOs as a chatroom when my friends still play but I grew bored or in this case refuse to play alone (they are ranks 40+). Soon as group content is more readily available and more commonly used I will actually level instead of browsing lodestone and forums everyday and watching netflix.

I've been leveling in behest but I hear that breaks down in the rank 40s. I think that's the biggest issue with XIV at the moment. Unless you have friends already in the game or an LS lined up it can be hard.

You asking for a linkshell in uldah? unless your server is much different them mine most linkshell are wanting more people. If you are not asking for a linkshell it might be awhile before someone shouts for one.
