Yoshida is putting in those things from other MMOs that work, the things that have become genre-defining. He's establishing that base of things that people expect from both Final Fantasy and the MMO genre. After that we'll see what happens, I like where it's going myself though.
no the problem with tanaka was se rushed out a product that was only partially complete and used him as a fall guy. the knee jerk reaction to shut people up was to put in yoshi. yoshi is destroying the things that alot of people wanted when we purchased the game. if you like a game that 5 year old kids can kill mobs in your party then yoshi is doing that correctly. i'm wrong? i'll have video my 5 year old son playing my thm against the goblin nm in one of my static parties to see if he can do it................he can. he's done it more than once.
