    Software Token

    So, is anyone at Square-Enix aware that the link for how to remove a software token if you have lost your emergency removal code tells you to log into your account, and provides no helpful information in the least?

    Apple's latest update deleted a friend's software token and he cannot access his account at all, nor can he find any useful information in the support system on how to fix the issue. After over an hour we finally found an email form, and hopefully that will work, but if not this is a major issue. I sincerely doubt he will be the only person this happens to in the next few days.

    They made a big post about the security token yesterday it pretty big and seems pretty detailed.

    That is, in fact, the post I was referring to. The link for what to do if you do not have an emergency removal code sends you to a knowledge base article that tells you:

    "To remove the security token, log into the Square Enix Account Management System and go to "Services/Options"->"One-Time Password"-> "Security Token Usage Settings"->"Security Token Removal.""

    This is, by definition, impossible.

    That is if you have the removal code if not you have to contact SE for them to remove it.

    If you have lost your Emergency Removal Password or are unable to perform the emergency removal of the Software Token yourself, the Support Center will be able to remove it for you once account ownership is verified.

    Not if you've done what you're told to do and made a record of the emergency code somewhere else that's secure but outside of you SE Account.
