Am I the only one who feels kinda screwed by not having a decent FC?

I'm pretty sure that you cant do that for real money. I dont see anything about mercing for gil.

You all do realize that in the ACTUAL story of the game, Titan was first killed by a band of Mercenaries, right? XD Nothing wrong with providing a service, it's not like its your only option.

the problem is once it starts happening it spreads quickly and becomes the only option and then the whole server just turns into if you want to progress you have to buy it from one of the big guilds

You're probably very correct since the type of people that would pay for mercs are most likely gil buyers.

In WoW, some of the groups selling runs of raids (and specific items when the dropped) were the actual gold sellers. You could buy runs on the sites, they'd run you, keep everything but the item/s you bought, and speed run it until it dropped. You never even had to do anything in the raid. I never did this for the record, but know for a fact. It was also done a LOT before they fixed the exploit that let you one shot everything. Look up that video that guy has where he runs around Stormwind killing everyone with a GM command. His making it known got it closed, but even without it, they still do it.

Just make a linkshell. I find linkshells to be far more active and organized than FC's right now. People in fc's are still gearing up or low levels, or the ones hit 50 left and joined an all 50 FC. Linkshells on the other hand are people from all the FC's in one social group. I just made a shout macro to recruit for an all 50 Linkshell for farming AK, World Bosses, etc etc and people flock to it. Then all of a sudden we are running Hydra/Chimera, Calling out odin/behemoth spawns, AK, Castrum etc. We aren't to relic yet, but we are close. And were not in coil etc, but the Linkshell as a collective whole is way more active than the FC's are individually. And theres more of us online.

If you recruit during the times you play, you'll find yourself with 60+ level 50's that play the same times you do. And from a group of people like that, static's emerge.

I helped make my own FC since launch. And since then I've really built a lovely community of players to progress through Titan with, and now the Coil. It took a lot of hard work, but it paid out in the end. I think, no matter who you are if you work hard enough to get geared, and show that you're a talented player you'll find yourself taking part in endgame content. :3

Looking at live shouts via FFXIAH, there are people selling things right now. There's nothing wrong with selling things for gil. There's an issue when real money becomes involved, however.

These days it's not too commonplace for raiding. Challenge modes for sure, but the gold sellers just aren't good enough to down anything in a real raid outside of maybe a couple normal modes. Bigger, more progressed guilds still do it though, but that's mostly just for heroics. Nobody really gives a crap about normals, since you can usually pug at least some of them.

Bugging mobs in a way that wasn't intended by the designers, is an abuse. Not entering the field of vision of a mob, to pass by unnoticed is an intended game-feature.

Pretty sure that when a person with aggro on a mob dies, it was intended for it to run back to it's starting position, NOT to start hitting someone not on the threat table. These mechanics still function this same exact way after the change, so what exactly wasn't intended?
