Namingway Card items?

So we have bottles of Fantasia to enable a player to change their appearance, race, gender, etc. Problem is, it doesn't seem to enable a name change. I understand one reason for not allowing this is to curtail a possible avenue of further character theft by hackers and RMT - you know, change the character's appearance and name, suddenly the old character doesn't exist and will be harder to give back to the owner...

I digress. I know some people who have done the complete appearance change, but they don't like having to keep their old name since it doesn't fit the new character design, and they'd like to have a name which is lore-appropriate for the new model.

Don't change how Fantasia works but, instead, consider the addition of Namingway cards. It's an item which fits the classic FF lore, giving a nod to previous titles, and fulfills the function of enabling a person to change their name. Make it a rare/unique item like the Fantasia potions. Maybe a future veteran reward, or event-related item?

Totally agree with this! The Fantasia allows for gender change too, so a lot of people might want to change their name for that reason.

Yeah it would be hilarious to see female "John Smith" just because they can only change the gender, not the name. Lol

For added hilarity, the example image they give for the Fantasia potion has someone changing from a male to a female character, which you wouldn't want to do if you couldn't also change your name to something appropriate to the gender.

needs to have a string/yarn ball attachment so we can see who you were before you changed your name. else there will be people running off with the guild bank and changing their names and appearance
