I dont know if i really want people to be able to change their names...

I can understand people would like to change their names, but you should have thought about your character more when you made it. Not considdered it disposable like the WoW crowd does.

I have absolutely ZERO sympathy for someone who named their character something degorative or plain insulting, or even something they more than realized would be stupid and now that they find out that they like the game and would like to play it seriously, they want to change their name...

Zero sympathy. If they care so much, they can always make a new character. But they dont, do they.

Outside of the whole Blacklist and Guild chest stealing, atleast with Phantasia i know that if i see a female miqo'te run around called "Steve Blueballs", it would be hilarious for a minute but i'd know to avoid them.

If this gets implemented and that same miqo'te is suddenly called "Buttercup Prettyflower", yeah... :/

So basically you want no one to be able to change their name (which you can actually do for a 36$(Two Server Xfers) fee or by burning your character restoration) based on how angry you are that you've run into a few guys named Fourtwenty Blazeit? So we all have to suffer so these people who aren't going to change their names anyway, can't possibly change their mind and want to be more serious about the game? Honestly there's absolutely no reason for this to not be put in. I shouldn't have to keep a female name if I want to fantasia to a male character and vice versa. This is just such a bad and punitive view to have on this. You have this contrived scenario, and want to punish people based on it. I'm sure Steve Blueballs is perfectly happy with his name.

Square should grant a free one-time name change to all characters named Lannister or Stark. :lol: I like Game of Thrones as much as the next guy but it's ridiculous out there.

I do believe we should get ONE *purchasable* name change.
Like how there's a limit of 9 Fantasia potions. One name change would be good. I personally want to change my last name lol.

If people want to change their name THAT Badly after the one purchase, change servers, make a character on your original server with the same name, and transfer back. And you can change it. Pricey. But hey.
