I posted a while back with the issue of also not being able to pay for one of my characters, just giving a follow up that today I discovered Crysta is now available and working for me through PayPal.
I posted a while back with the issue of also not being able to pay for one of my characters, just giving a follow up that today I discovered Crysta is now available and working for me through PayPal.
Was in the Beta and purchased a copy of the game, created my account and went through my 30 days free trial, Ended up trying to make a payment and it gave me 601, for my debit card, credit card, gift card attempt, buying crysta using paypal and also attempting ultimate pay. Figured it may have just been a issue with my account, bought a second copy of the game and created another account. 30 days end on the 8th, and I just attempted to make a payment, 401 now on everything I attempted above on another account.Seriously, I have people who I live with who have no issues and share the same banking company I do for our debit cards. What exactly is going on here? I've now been screwed out of 2 copies of the game.
To top it off, I had bought a 60 day sub card here in Japan, and found out I can't use it on my NA account because it has a different number key required to activate it.
It really seems like SE is just trying to screw me here.
The best part is the money is taken out of my gift/paypal accounts, and then takes several days to actually get back to them.

Pretty much the same story here except I'm getting Error code 512.
Didn't play the game since my free trial expired and figured I'd go back in and spend some time but sure enough setting up a subscription is damn near impossible. Tried two times with my debit card both times they took the $1 for processing but the actual subscription part failed with error -512. Chat support was clueless as to what 512 is and pretty much said I'm SOL unless I try another browser (no thanks I'd rather use that one dollar to wipe my butt than give it to you again)
End of rant! gonna go find something else that will actually shut up take my money.
The mogstation recently has Time Card Subscriptions up. Does this mean that there will be US Time Cards that we can buy to replenish our time? Can anyone verify this?
Why is it so hard for Square Enix to take my money. I thought I was a fairly isolated case and reading SE's site it seems that they know of this problem. I followed the steps to "resolve" this issue, nothing. I talked to my bank to see if there was any issue on their end and they had no problem. I contacted their customer service and it seems like they have no clue about this issue at all.
Then today I looked on this forum and saw that not only am I not an isolated case, but at least 87 pages of comments worth of people have the same issue and it has been going on for months now. WTF
I used to play FF11 and actually liked it, then one day my credit card expired and SE made it such a hassle for me to pay them they lost a customer and at least a year and a half worth of subscription that I wasted on WoW, and maybe even more.
It seems that SE is doing the same thing as before and making it hard to pay them. Why is it so hard to take my money?
What a headache to just transition from my free month to a monthly subscription! Clearly they have a broken system that is why so many people are having trouble with purchases with cc. I was having the same problem and clearly it wasn't me it wasn't the bank or my cc it was Square Enixs' broken billing system and 3rd party they have handling it. I play on NA server also live in NA. I ended up buying a ultimate game card ONLINE with the cc Square Enix said didn't work hmmmm purchase went through like any other thing I buy online without a hitch. Went back to Square Enix site clicked add crysta clicked ultimatepay other options clicked Ultimate game card entered pin confirmed it was added went back to mog station proceed to payment for 1 char for 30 days clicked Crysta confirmed and viola! I now have 30 days before I have to do it again -_-. It's more of a pain then some of the quests in game were you have to travel to three different regions to get items just to bring them all back and have the quest giver say oh well it looks good but there is just a couple more things i need to finish....sigh oh the life of MMORPG games. Way to bring it into the real world Square Enix. AND PLEASE FIX YOUR BROKEN PAYMENT SYSTEM before you lose more customers and this game flops like it did the first time you released it! Thank you that is all :-p

401'd!
I have to admit, never thought I'd seriously regret removing my bank card from my account. (My secondary account is lacking funds at the moment, thought it would be simple to just input the other card information...)... but nope.
I tried waiting 24 hours after first attempt.. Second time I was advised 48 hours and decided to wait something over 50 hours.. (slept in so not really sure of the exact amount of time.)
But anyway. After reading threads, after reading the blogs people have posted..
I've made tickets, contacted support via chat and attempted by phone.
One of the phone numbers I was provided was asking for a "Passcode" which was not given to me during the chat session.
I was informed that its Squeenix's Anti-Fraud detection...
I was given another phone number from chat, this time it was a Visa number(Playspan/Ultimate pay is now a part of Visa).
After reading up on the forums I found out that you cannot use the same credit card on two accounts.. (.....)
On first attempt I tried adding crysta through Squeenix.. It did not work. I needed to purchase online the "Ultimate Game Card", apply the card to account as Crysta, then use the Crysta as a subscription.
All thanks to Tehoos, I was about to give up.
1.) Google "Ultimate Gaming Card"
2.) Goto website and click "Get yours now" ....(Ultimate cards from "offgamers" was fast for me.)
3.) Select desired amount. (5, 10, 20, 50, or 100... for my 6 months I needed 10, 20, and 50.)
4.) Pay for it and wait for code.
5.) Once you've recieved it... Goto Mog Station and click "Add Crysta" on left hand side.. ( secure.square-enix.com/account/app )
-OR secure.square-enix.com/account/app/svc/mogstation > Square Enix Account Settings > Add Crysta
6.) Select the amount you choose for card. (5, 10, 20, 50, or 100.)
7.) When popup appears, click "Other Options".. (Or something of the like, recalling from memory.. it should be the last tab on the top right.)
8.) Enter in the code provided, I did mine with dashes and caps on. (XXXX-XXXX-......)
9.) If successful, you might see "Thanks First+Middle name!" (Which threw me off, but click ok, it should add the crysta onto your account.)
10.) Rinse repeat from 5.) to now if you have multiple cards.
________
secure.square-enix.com/account/app/svc/mogstation
11.) If you have "automatic renewal" setup, click to cancel it and verify the cancel.
12.) Then you will edit /change /add subscription.
13.) Ultimate Pay, then use Crysta.
If you have time remaining since the last time you paid, it will say "Continued Automatically
Subscription Payment: Game Time Card"... This is what I see and should work for paying off your account.
Good luck, and i hope this helped!
(Will be putting on my blog..)

Glad I could be of some assistance :highfive: I felt it was the least I could do that's why I first had to rant and then lay it all out hoping to aviod someone the headache of what I just was forced to deal with
. On a update to my post i received the usual e-mail from SE stating that is not their fault they have no control over error messages and the error code if the card don't work and it's my fault or the company my card is through
I seized on that to reply back and let them know just how much of a piece of crap there billing service is and that they should rethink the 3rd party they have handling the billing, telling them they are only going to cost themselves lots of loyal customers to go else were (including myself) if they don't do something about it. Then told them no it wasn't my fault or my card it's on their end! I haven't received a response back from them yet. I can only hope that it sinks in and they actually do something about it instead of blaming the customers for their incompetence. Try that in any retail environment and guaranteed you will be without a job!
THE ANSWER TO ALL OUR PRAYERS!!!! /psychThis is a seriously convoluted way of doing this, but it seems to have worked for the 3 times I have had to subscribe. You WILL need a PayPal account for this to work with either a credit card (prepaid or not) or a debit card registered to your account.
Been having trouble with Errors 401/601 for the past month? Are you /frustrated + /sulk? Then /dance cause I have figured it out with the help of this Forum ThreadYou go into Mogstation then into Account Services. From there, go to Automatic Renewal and select whatever subscription you desire and select CRYSTA as your choice of payment. From there, you will have to add crysta to your account, so click on the hyperlink "add crysta", which will bring a new window to pop up prompting you to choose a means of payment to purchase the crysta. This is where EVERYONE seems to run into problems, so PAY ATTENTION! Select UltimatePay as your means of payement via UPoints. If you have no UPoints, you will be prompted to purchase some yourself and thus having you select a bank or means of payment of UPoints, and one of the selections is PAYPAL! SELECT THE PAYPAL!!! If you select the option to pay via paypal (you must have an active paypal account beforehand), you will use your paypal account to purchase the UPoints, which will then be ACCEPTED by GlobalPay and you will then receive your crysta. With the Crysta now safely registered to your Square Enix account, you can now continue through Mogstation to complete your subscription renewal, with a subscription REBORN!!!

Let me get this straight...
A billing issue at least 5 months old where the solution is to buy their currency in $5 increments when their billing set up is for charges of $10-14.99 a month?
That means if I wanted to come back to check things out with an entry sub, I would need to buy either $20 in Crysta, or $10 and $5, then be stuck with a weird remainder balance that can't really be used for diddle? Even if I decided to stay with the game, I would pretty much always have a wonky balance of Crysta, and when the time inevitably came to move on... that remainder balance of unusable Crysta.
Some may say, "Big deal!", but this isn't about me losing maybe 12 cents (or potentially up to maybe ~89.01 depending on the initial Crysta investment and subsequent usage) in a year. I am sure we have all taken vastly bigger hits to the coin purse. The big deal is those remainder increments of Crysta would at one time have been MY money, and YOUR money, and together OUR money lines the pocket of someones who aren't fixing their credit card billing system. And that money adds up little by little like all microtransactions, so that these "remainders" add up to very sizable sums of cash. On the bright and positive end of the spectrum, think "Humble Bundle". On the other end of the spectrum we have this fiasco here at Square Enix. Can we say, "Pennies in the coffers"?
